Your inner critic talks too much and is not always your friend. So, you need to clear your mind and start looking at the facts.A good way of clearing your mind is to take up meditation. There’s a lot of great self-help videos free of charge on line that you can listen to. You could also take up a bit of exercise, it will help to refocus your thoughts. Clearly visualising what you want in your life and how you’d like your future to look will also help. Look to your past accomplishments and remind yourself of your past successes. Replacing negative thoughts with positive ones helps to refocus your mind.Self-doubt is the bodies way of protecting you. It’s a reminder that you&#39;re venturing into something new and that there are risks involved. It has a place in everyone’s life, but how we react to it is the difference between success or failure.When you experience self-doubt, the best thing to do is to acknowledge it. It may help to write down a list of why you’re feeling like this. What are the obstacles that have the potential to hold you back? You can then put a plan in place for addressing them in a healthy and productive way. This will help you to remain more positive as you move forward.In a recent survey over 51% of Irish workers admitted having ‘a lack of confidence’ when it came to applying for a new job. 42% ‘thought they didn’t have strong enough experience, while 18% ‘stated that they are scared of rejection and failure’, so you are not alone if you are feeling some self-doubt.It was found that the majority of Irish workers don’t have the confidence to apply for a new job. <h2>Job hunting is not easy</h2>Sometimes it can be difficult to recover from an unsuccessful interview, particularly when you felt that it went really well. No matter how talented you are, remember it’s all a bit of a lottery. If you&#39;re feeling confused about what went wrong consider asking for feedback, you have nothing to lose. The key thing to do after a rejection is to think about what happened, and how you can learn from it. <h2>Asking for detailed feedback</h2>Asking for and listening to feedback is the most valuable thing you can do when faced with a job rejection. Self-analysis alone won’t paint the whole picture of why you weren’t the right person for the role.So, start by gathering all the feedback you can from the recruiter. They may or may not give it to you, but it&#39;s no harm to ask.<h2>Review and reflect</h2>Once you’ve had a chance to come to terms with the employer’s decision, it can be tempting to brush the experience aside and never think of it again. But that would be to pass up on a significant learning opportunity.So, thinking about the feedback you received, go back through everything that happened, from the way you prepared and researched through to your interactions in the interview and any follow-up.If the process took place in stages, rank your performance for each part and determine where there is room for improvement. <h2>What went well, what could you have done differently?</h2>Could you have answered some of the questions differently? Could you have worked harder to build rapport with your interviewer(s)? There is always room to improve.<h2>Identify learnings and build a personal development plan</h2>Think about feedback from past rejections, and from appraisals. Are there any recurring themes? What should your development priorities be?Make a note of any weaknesses or issues that you can do something about, and use them as a focus for the way you approach your preparation next time.Turn these requirements into a plan. What can you do to fix the gaps in your performance? Depending on the issue, there may be some training or informal coaching you can undertake to help you develop. Or it may simply be a case of working harder on some of your answers, and finding someone to practise them with.<h2>Be philosophical</h2>Feedback can also help you to recognise that sometimes rejection is simply out of your hands – and can even ultimately be in your interest. Some things can’t be changed overnight – if the interviewer prefers someone with extensive client management experience (which you don’t have) or they want someone who speaks the local language (and you don’t, or not as well), then it pays to be philosophical. The key with your plan is to focus on the things you can realistically change.Chemistry plays a vital part in any successful working arrangement. So even if you’d felt your interview went perfectly, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the role within that specific company was perfect for you.<h2>Refine your search</h2>Sometimes the interview and/or feedback process can make you realise that, although it’s disappointing to be rejected, the role didn’t, on reflection, feel like quite the right fit for you either.Look back over the job specification and ask yourself if you could truly see yourself in that role on a day-to-day basis. If there were aspects of the role that didn’t excite you, the interviewer may have been able to see this too.Use your experience to help you refine future job searches. Are you perhaps looking at keywords that don’t quite match your ambitions and aspirations? Did the role that went with the job title not quite match your expectations? Did the interview make you realise that this is not quite the right sort of job for you? And if not, then what is?<h2>Build resilience</h2>In today’s rapidly changing workplace, as technologies accelerate and companies transform themselves with great agility, developing a mindset of grit and resilience is essential for long-term success.See each setback as a challenge to grow both your self-understanding and your ability to bounce back and deal with disappointment. Sept 1 (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc <a href="https://www.reuters.com/companies/AMZN.O">(AMZN.O)</a> is planning to hire 55,000 people for corporate and technology roles globally in the coming months, Chief Executive Andy Jassy told Reuters.That’s equal to more than a third of Google’s <a href="https://www.reuters.com/companies/GOOGL.O">(GOOGL.O)</a> headcount as of June 30, and close to all of Facebook’s <a href="https://www.reuters.com/companies/FB.O">(FB.O)</a>.Jassy, in his first press interview since he ascended to Amazon’s top post in July, said the company needed more firepower to keep up with demand in retail, the cloud and advertising, among other businesses. Minister Donohoe announces further economic supports for businesses as they re-openFrom Department of FinancePublished on 1 June 2021Following the Government meeting today (Tuesday), the Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe, T.D., has announced the following set of measures to provide support to businesses as they re-open and resume normal trading:• The extension of the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme to 31 December 2021;• The extension and enhancement of the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme to provide additional support to businesses upon re-opening and to give certainty to businesses still directly affected by public health restrictions;• A new additional business support scheme (Business Resumption Support Scheme or BRSS) for businesses with reduced turnover as a result of public health restrictions to be implemented in September 2021;• The extension of the tax debt warehousing scheme to allow the period where liabilities arising can be “warehoused” to be extended to the end of 2021 for all eligible taxpayers, with an interest-free period during 2022, and to include overpayments of EWSS in the scheme;• The Government agreed to the drafting of legislation to provide for these measures.These measures will provide certainty to businesses as public health restrictions are lifted and allow them to plan for the future as they re-open and resume normal trading.Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme:The EWSS continues to represent a substantial and key part of the Government response to the Covid-19 pandemic, supporting businesses, encouraging employment, and helping to maintain the link between employers and employees.As of the week ending 27 May, a total of €3.835 billion has been spent under the scheme of which €3.293 billion relates to direct subsidies and €0.542 billion relates to Employers’ PRSI foregone.For Q3, the Government has decided to broadly maintain the status quo for EWSS, including the enhanced rates of support and the reduced rate of Employers’ PRSI with a modification to widen eligibility.For Q4, the Government has approved the extension of the EWSS, however, it is considered too early yet to prescribe the precise operational parameters of the scheme that should apply for that quarter, and decisions in that regard would be taken closer to the time around the end of August / early September.Covid Restrictions Support Scheme:The Covid Restriction Support Scheme (CRSS) has been an extremely successful intervention by the Government to provide support to businesses whose customers are prevented from accessing their premises because of Public Health restrictions.The CRSS in its current form will be continued to the end of 2021 for the reducing number of businesses that are still directly affected by public health restrictions that may remain in place. The qualification criteria and payment rates will remain unchanged.The Government will also provide for an enhanced restart week payment – a single payment of three double weeks to businesses upon re-opening (subject to a maximum of €30,000). This will provide additional support to the businesses in restocking and making the necessary preparations to welcome their customers back in a safe manner.This enhanced restart payment is intended to incentivise them to exit the scheme and return to trading as early as possible.Business Resumption Support Scheme:As the economy re-opens, a further scheme is being introduced for vulnerable but viable businesses, particularly in sectors that were significantly impacted throughout the pandemic, even during periods when restrictions were eased.Businesses whose turnover is reduced by 75% in the reference period (1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021) compared with 2019 will be eligible. The scheme will not be restricted by location, rate-paying, or physical premises. It is expected that there will be a limited number of such businesses and recognised that it is important that such businesses are supported.Businesses who previously availed of other schemes such as SBASC and the Tourism Business Continuity Scheme for example as well as CRSS will be eligible to apply provided they meet the qualifying criteria.The BRSS will be administered by Revenue and will operate in a similar way to CRSS.Tax Warehousing:The tax debt warehousing scheme has provided approximately €2.3 billion of liquidity to Irish businesses at a time that they need it most. The scheme is now being extended to the end of this year, with no interest during 2022 and interest at a reduced rate of 3% thereafter.Speaking on the overall package of measures, the Minister said“The Government and I have committed on multiple occasions that there will be no “cliff-edge” to supports for business. The Irish Football Association’s annual Easter camps are moving online this year! Covid-19 restrictions mean the camps, usually held at various locations cannot be staged as they normally would.So the camps, in collaboration with TopTekkers, are going virtual! This Thursday and Friday (8 &amp; 9 April) at 10:30am, the Irish FA’s YouTube and Facebook platforms will host special coaching sessions to help kids hone their skills at home! And, it’s all completely free! Over the course of two days, Irish FA Foundation coaches Amanda Morton, Ben Crossley and Brendan Lynch will offer top tips on how kids can improve their game. There will also be lots of drills to watch and take part in, courtesy of TopTekkers. Aspiring doctors could qualify without a medical degree to help those already working in healthcare to train while they work<ul><li>Proposals could see nurses train to become doctors while they are also working</li><li>Senior medics are drawing up the scheme to increase accessibility and diversity</li><li>Student doctors warn programme will &#39;inadvertently create a two-tier system&#39;</li> </ul>Aspiring doctors could qualify without doing a medical degree under proposals being drawn up by health officials.The &#39;medical doctor apprenticeship&#39; would help those already working in healthcare, such as nurses or assistants, to train as doctors while they work.Health bosses, medical schools and the General Medical Council regulator are developing the programme, which is aimed at widening access to medicine.Currently students have to spend five or six years at medical school doing an expensive degree, including three years of clinical placements, to become doctors.Critics say this restricts entry to the profession to mainly middle-class and well-educated youngsters.The new apprenticeships would cover the same curriculum as degrees but would be intended to make the profession more accessible and diverse.Professor Wendy Reid, from the Health Education England training body, told the Health Service Journal: &#39;The [difference between an apprenticeship and a degree] will be that people will be working alongside learning, so very similar to traditional apprenticeships where if you are older or you have commitments where you can&#39;t suddenly go off and spend five or six years as a [student], then this is a way of learning differently. At the moment this will suit people who have been in work for some time, either in a health service related role or indeed in other work.&#39; Under the plans, when medical doctor apprentices have completed their training they will be put on the medical register by the GMC. All passengers arriving into Ireland from designated States after 4am on the morning of Friday, 26 March are now required to pre-book accommodation in a designated quarantine facility, and to pre-pay for their stay.The first facility that will be available to receive arriving travellers is the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel in Santry. Costs range from €1,500 for one person up to €3,485 for a family of 2 Adults and 2 Children. 12 Night Quarantine Package - Rate includes overnight accommodation for 12 nights, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
