Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, management and planning skills as well as the ability to set goals, implement and review. Candidates must have the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality, to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and co-operate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophy. A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement. Skills: Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, management and planning skills as well as the ability to set goals, implement and review. Candidates must have the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality, to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and co-operate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophy. GALWAY JOB REF: 159 /2024E The Brothers of Charity Services in Loughrea are a community based, person centred service for adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community. We continually review the way in which we support people in line with best practice internationally. Our focus going forward is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family and communities, supporting people to plan and direct their own service so that they can enjoy a life with a healthy balance of supports. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form friendships. The Rea Services operate in Loughrea, Co. Galway, where there are a range of services including day, residential, family support services, training, education, Individualised services, and leisure activities to support adults with an intellectual disability in the Loughrea area. The Service Coordinator, under the guidance of the Area Manager, and supported by local staff teams, is responsible for the coordination and continued development of these services. Reporting/Responsible to: Area Manager/Sector Manager Qualifications/Experience/Skills: The successful candidate must have: · A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Health Sector e.g. BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or nursing qualification. · A minimum of 3 years post graduate relevant experience in management and leadership. · An appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management is a necessary requirement of the post to enable the successful candidate take on the Person in Charge role. · Proven operational experience is essential. · Budgetary/financial, employee relations and team management experience. · Excellent leadership, managerial and team-working skills are required to co-ordinate and support the service teams and to ensure that a range of high quality services are provided. · Excellent communication and organisational skills together with up to date knowledge of current thinking and practices in person centred service delivery. · Good IT skills is crucial for this role. · A full clean manual Irish driving licence.
