ESB Generation & Trading Apprenticeship 2025
This is an opportunity to work as part of a leading-edge team in Ireland’s Ardnacrusha hydropower generating station and on the Shannon Scheme. We have been generating electricity on the Shannon since 1929. The station team plays a pivotal role in ensuring Ardnacrusha’s safety, commercial and technical performance is optimised. ESB Ardnacrusha Station has 3 Francis turbines and 1 Kaplan Type Turbine, 4 generators (G1 – G4: rated at 21MW, 22MW, 19MW and 24MW respectively) and responsibility for all the associated dams, weirs, gates, and civil structures associated with the Shannon hydroelectric scheme. ESB Generation & Trading Apprenticeship 2025
This is an opportunity to work as part of a leading-edge team in Ireland’s only pumped storage hydro power station located at Turlough Hill, and in our 3 traditional hydro power stations on the River Liffey. We have been generating electricity on the Liffey since 1944, and at Turlough Hill since 1974. Our stations have a combined generating capacity of 330MW. The stations asset management team play a pivotal role in ensuring the stations commercial / technical performance is optimised. Liffey and Turlough Hill stations are made up of 4 separate generating locations; 292MW of pumped storage at Turlough Hill and 38MW of hydro generation at Poulaphuca, Golden Falls and Leixlip. This comprises 9 power turbines and all the associated dams, gates and civil structures associated with the river Liffey hydroelectric scheme and Turlough Hill. Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice
The Ballyshannon stations are known collectively as the Erne hydro-electric scheme. Cathaleen’s Fall, Cliff Station and Clady Station. The Erne Scheme is the second largest source of hydroelectric power in the country. generating a capacity of almost 70MWs, supplying electricity to over 38,000 homes. The Hydro stations are part of ESB’s low-carbon generation portfolio and play an important part in ESB’s renewable energy strategy of NetZero by 2040. R&D Project Coordinator
C&D Foods is one of Europe’s leading own label pet food manufacturers producing a range of wet and dry pet foods. Part of The APB Food Group, C&D Foods has grown to become one of the industry’s leading pet food producers. It is primarily a problem-solving role based around suggesting, testing, and implementing solutions to problems and general improvements in production / processing. A good working knowledge of all major science subjects is essential including Chemistry, Biology & Physics. An understanding of food manufacturing is highly beneficial. This role can be based from our Head Office, Mullingar or R&D center in Edgeworthstown, Longford. Job Description The Accounts Assistant is responsible for assisting the Financial Controller and Accountant in ensuring that the accounting records are properly controlled, reported upon and ensuring that they comply with relevant accounting standards. Key Responsibilities · Preparation of weekly management accounts for submission to Head Office senior management in line with required deadlines · Assisting with preparation of the monthly management accounts · Monthly balance sheet reconciliations · Preparation and posting of journals – payroll, prepayments, accruals etc. · Participate (as directed) in the performance and on-going enhancements to the daily financial accounting control environment including the performance of specific designated reconciliations, preparation of manual accounting batches, and various reports. · Ensure appropriate documented files are maintained and filed for later review by Auditor · Assisting with monthly stock reconciliations · Assisting with year-end stock take and with preparation of year end accounts · Support and ensure reconciliations are properly prepared and that all reconciling items are cleared within the agreed timescales and to provide any necessary analysis. · Covering payroll and purchase ledger in staff holidays/absence · Lead by example, upholding the company’s values in all areas of work. Operations Graduate
The operations function within ABP ensures that our products are safe, legally compliant and meet with our customer requirements. Our graduate program will provide individuals with a thorough understanding of all operational aspects of our business from abattoir to finished product. As a graduate you will have a structured development program supported by your manager, mentor and learning department. You will rotate across a minimum of 3 sites during the 2 year period. We have 5 sites in NI including ABP Lurgan, ABP Newry, Linden Foods Retail Dungannon, Linden Foods Primal Dungannon and Kettyle Irish Foods Lisnaskea. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and vibrant team in an all-encompassing training program! Main Duties & Responsibilities Your ultimate goal will be to progress towards a leadership position at one of our sites in NI or the UK. From day one, you will get hands on experience supporting our factory operations team. You will get exposure to our wide range of products and processes across both retail and primal sites gaining an understanding of how to run a production line and manage a team. We will teach you about our farm to fork process and be involved in projects across the departments gaining invaluable experience within the food industry.
