Accounts Assistant

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in ABP Clones. The successful candidate will be based in ABP Clones, Teehill, Clones, Co Monaghan, on a full time contract.
Job Description
The Accounts Assistant is responsible for assisting the Financial Controller and Accountant in ensuring that the accounting records are properly controlled, reported upon and ensuring that they comply with relevant accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Preparation of weekly management accounts for submission to Head Office senior management in line with required deadlines
· Assisting with preparation of the monthly management accounts
· Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
· Preparation and posting of journals – payroll, prepayments, accruals etc.
· Participate (as directed) in the performance and on-going enhancements to the daily financial accounting control environment including the performance of specific designated reconciliations, preparation of manual accounting batches, and various reports.
· Ensure appropriate documented files are maintained and filed for later review by Auditor
· Assisting with monthly stock reconciliations
· Assisting with year-end stock take and with preparation of year end accounts
· Support and ensure reconciliations are properly prepared and that all reconciling items are cleared within the agreed timescales and to provide any necessary analysis.
· Covering payroll and purchase ledger in staff holidays/absence
· Lead by example, upholding the company’s values in all areas of work.
Essential Requirements
· Computer literate - Microsoft office - high level skills in Excel essential.
- An Accountancy qualification desirable
- 3 years’ experience an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Hardworking and flexible with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and great accuracy
- A self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative in a busy, results-driven environment
- An understanding of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet inter-relationship would be valuable but not essential
The Accounts Assistant will be reporting directly to the Site Financial Controller
