Apprentice Panel Beater/ Spray Painter
We are a Leitrim based family run business looking to fill a vacancy for an apprentice panel beater/ spray painter. We have a large well equiped modern garage in rural Leitrim, with a fully equiped body shop repair section. This apprenticeship will involve both on the job and off the job training. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will receive a nationally and internationally recognised FETAC Level 6 Craft Certificate. Requirements: Full time, permanent, apprenticeship.
Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work. Farm Technician Apprentice
Typical tasks/responsibilities The farm technician will plan and schedule farm tasks and supervise key herd or crop operations such as milking, husbandry, grass management, and nutrition. The farm technician will oversee compliance with industry standards and regulatory measures relating to quality, bio-security, food assurance, health & safety, and environmental issues. They will take responsibility for designated herd and crop recording and administrative activities. They will assist in strategic farm planning and business performance evaluation. Amongst other things, a farm technician apprentice will be able to: Knowledge 1. Understand agricultural production systemns. 2. Undertand the principles and practice of implementing safety, health, welfare, and environmental legislation. 3. Understand the principles of sustainability, food quality, food assurance, and biosecurity. 4. Understand farm metrics 5. Understand market specification requirements. 6. Proposed minimum entry requirements for apprentices on the programme All apprentices must be employed full time by an ‘approved employer’ in an agricultural setting. Option 1: • Have achieved a pass in the Leaving Certificate Established (NFQ Level 5)* or Vocational Programme (NFQ Level 5)*, obtaining a minimum grade O6/H7 in Maths** or a F2 in Foundation Maths, and O6/H7 in four other subjects. • A Major QQI level 5 (or higher) Award*. OR - Option 3 • Level 6 Specific Purpose in Farming programmes* OR-Option 4 • Αnyone working in the agricultural sector, 18 years old or older with have two full-time years of work experience in a land-based sector (such as farming, agricultural contracting, horticulture, forestry, aquaculture or the equine sector) deemed acceptable by employer and consortium and subject to the validation of supporting evidence and/or assessment process. * A qualification deemed equivalent on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications to any of the qualifications listed above. **Note – Where there is a mathematics requirement at Leaving Certificate Established or Vocational Programme, obtaining a minimum grade O6/H7 in Maths or a F2 in Foundation Maths, mature and international applicants may be required to demonstrate that they possess the required competency through the completion of a maths assessment. Note - The programme is through the medium of English and it is highly desirable that the applicant will meet CEF Level B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Language). Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of English language proficiency. The certificate of the English language standard must have been issued within 2 years of the expected start of your course.

Apprentice Electrician- Nationwide for 2025
Position Overview: As a High Voltage Electrical Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians and technicians. You will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to install, maintain, and repair high voltage electrical systems. The H&MV Electrical Apprenticeship Program provides hands-on training and classroom instruction to help you develop your technical expertise. The Apprenticeship Program will also give you exposure to multiple disciplines including control and protection systems, HV AIS and GIS substation construction, safety compliance, HV switchgear assembly, grid transformer assembly, HV cable jointing, commissioning and asset management (maintenance). Responsibilities: 1. HV Substations: Support in the construction of HV AIS and GIS substations. You would be helping in the construction of earth grid installation, grid transformer assembly, GIS and AIS switchgear assembly, HV circuit breaker and control and protection panel installation. Installation of control and protection cables including glanding and terminations under the guidance of senior HV electricians. 2. Asset Management: Under the supervision of HV service engineers you will participate in the maintenance, testing and repair of HV electrical systems including HV switchgear, HV transformers, protection relay testing, earth testing and LV circuit breaker maintenance. Learn to use specialized testing equipment and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot faults and ensure system integrity. Learn to compile comprehensive testing and maintenance reports. 3. HV Cable Jointing: Under the supervision of HV cable jointers you will participate in the installation of HV cable systems including containment, glanding and termination of various types of HV cable. Learn the proper use of specialised tools and test equipment. Learn to compile installation check sheets and cable test reports. 4. Commissioning: Under the supervision of commissioning engineers you will gain an understanding of commissioning philosophies as well as reading electrical schematic and single line drawings. You will participate in the testing and verification of HV protection systems using specialized testing equipment. 5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with high voltage equipment. Follow established safety procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Report any hazards or potential risks to senior personnel. 6. Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting installation and maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered. Keep accurate records of inspections, tests, and repairs. Prepare reports and provide updates to supervisors. 7. Learning and Development: Attend classroom training sessions and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical systems. Take part in on-the-job training to acquire practical skills and familiarity with industry best practices. 8. Collaboration: Collaborate with team members – including electricians, technicians, and contractors – to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion. Follow instructions and seek guidance from experienced professionals to develop your skills and knowledge. 9. Compliance with codes and regulations: Familiarize yourself with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations relevant to high voltage electrical systems. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with these standards and guidelines. 10. Equipment and tool maintenance: Assist in the proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles used in high voltage electrical work. Keep an inventory of tools and materials, report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment, and ensure compliance with safety requirements. ESSENTIAL entry requirements: 1. Education: Leaving Cert with minimum 260 CAO points 2. Driver’s license: Full driver’s license is required, and own car 3. Valid Safe Pass card is required 4. Age: must be 17+ years old 5. Colour Vision test to be secured prior to interview stage PREFERRED entry requirements: Science and technical subjects completed in school
