Qualifications: Candidates must: Experience: Candidates must have at least 3 years post qualification occupational therapy clinical experience. Experience working in an occupational therapy role with people with a disability is essential. Skills: Candidates must demonstrate competency in applying theory, knowledge and skills of Occupational Therapy within the service area of people with disabilities. Flexibility and an openness to change are required. Fluency in verbal and written English and a high level of communication skills are essential. Working Hours: 70 hours per fortnight based on a 5 day duty roster. Contracted hours are liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm as future service needs require and flexibility will be required in order to meet service needs. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 29 days per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Senior Occupational Therapist (1st March 2025) – €63,279 x 8 increments - €74,509 (max) pro-rata per annum. Tenure: The post is temporary, full-time and pensionable linked on a specific purpose basis to a permanent employee’s leave within the Services. Travel/Base: The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty. Service delivery will be in the Adult services in Galway.
