It will provide working parents with further opportunity to spend more time with their baby in its crucial first year of development. With the introduction of this Bill, we are delivering on our commitment to increase paid parental leave in the first year of a child’s life. This is a practical measure to benefit parents and children. Pain in your backside in a dead end job?  Your words falling on deaf ears?

A woman who quit her job as a beautician to work as a naked cleaner now has her very own cleaning empire, employing a staff of 15 full-time workers. 

Victoria Murphy, 25, launched her firm after graduating with a degree in events management.

The 25-year-old from Edinburgh is able to charge anything from £55 to £75 per hour for her cleaners&#39; services, depending on their level of nudity.

Before singleton Victoria started recruiting her company, which is called Glimmer, she first tested the water by cleaning homes in Edinburgh in the nude.

&quot;I didn&#39;t want to put my staff into any situation I had not experienced myself,&quot; she said.Victoria was keen to start a business in the adult service sector with a unique selling point.

While working as a beautician, she first toyed with the idea of starting a webcam work business - though she had decided she wouldn&#39;t feature on camera herself.

She then stumbled across an American company offering a naked cleaning service and, feeling inspired, she soon launched Glimmer.

&quot;I knew I wanted something which would be fun and risqué but not extreme,&quot; Victoria, who lives in Edinburgh with her pet Daschund Louis.

&quot;We are not an escort service. What we offer is fun and flirty.

&quot;When I did it for a while, I had a laugh and nothing untoward happened.&quot;Glimmer customers can opt for one of three tiers of adult cleaning.

A service in lingerie or underwear starts at £55 per hour, while topless cleaning will set you back £65 an hour.

The most expensive package, which includes the services of a completely naked cleaner, costs £75 for the hour.

&quot;None of my staff ever have to do anything they don&#39;t feel comfortable with,&quot; Victoria added.

&quot;The client will choose the option they prefer and I will match the cleaner to that choice.&quot;

Prospective employees haven&#39;t been put off by the dress code - or lack thereof - with Victoria receiving 100 applications the last time she advertised for recruits.

&quot;The most important thing is that someone has professional cleaning experience.

&quot;Then they need to have a good personality, because engaging with the client, chatting to them and feeling comfortable being naked is all part of what makes someone right for this role.&quot;

Victoria, who has 15 members of staff including three men, said Glimmer has 20 regular clients and a further 15 who book an occasional clean.

She admitted they have shattered her preconceptions about the type of client she imagined would use the service.

&quot;I thought we&#39;d get mostly professional working men in their forties but actually, the clients are much more diverse,&quot; she said.

&quot;We&#39;ve had some as young as 30 and others in their 80s. Many of them live alone and a lot of the older gentleman are quite lonely, so it&#39;s important the experience is fun and that the cleaners like chatting.

&quot;We have male cleaners available but women asking for men isn&#39;t something that comes up a lot. We&#39;re definitely trying to work on that side of things and build it up.

&quot;When I&#39;m recruiting, I&#39;m not worried about what people look like - as everyone has a different idea of what&#39;s attractive - but they do need to be presentable and body confident.&quot;

Despite the unorthodox, saucy concept, Victoria said her friends and family have been very supportive about the business she has set up.

&quot;They understand this is my baby&quot; she said. &quot;I do spend a lot of time explaining to people that this is a serious cleaning business, too. We clean to a very high standard.

&quot;Most people ask what the client does while the cleaner is working.

&quot;They imagine they just sit there while the cleaner puts on a show, but that&#39;s not what we do.

&quot;A lot of clients have never done anything like this before and are often quite shy.

&quot;So the cleaner will chat and engage with them, but, most importantly, they&#39;ll get on with the job of cleaning the house.&quot;Rather than putting leaflets through people&#39;s doors - which might come as a bit of a surprise for any families - Victoria uses social media and advertises in free listings.

Running her business single-handedly, Victoria has big ambitions for the future of Glimmer.

She&#39;s now even recruiting naked cleaners in Glasgow and Aberdeen, and has hopes to not only conquer Scotland, but also the rest of the UK.

&quot;I do want to expand across the whole country but for now, we&#39;re expanding by offering Naked Party Hosting,&quot; she said.

Victoria also wants to branch out to offer Naked Handymen, which she believes will appeal more to women, as her current client list is mostly male.

&quot;I am still working part-time as a beautician doing nails mostly, but I am determined to make a success of this business, so I do work really hard,&quot; she said.

&quot;I do socialise with my friends and go out and I love taking Louis for a long walk, but I run every aspect of the business and so, truthfully, I have very little free time outside work.&quot;

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Employees who force themselves to smile and be happy in front of customers -- or who try to hide feelings of annoyance -- may be at risk for heavier drinking after work, according to researchers.A team of researchers at Penn State and the University at Buffalo studied the drinking habits of people who routinely work with the public, for example people in food service who work with customers, nurses who work with patients or teachers who work with students.They found a link between those who regularly faked or amplified positive emotions, like smiling, or suppressed negative emotions -- resisting the urge to roll one&#39;s eyes, for example -- and heavier drinking after work.Alicia Grandey, professor of psychology at Penn State, said the results suggest that employers may want to reconsider &quot;service with a smile&quot; policies.&quot;Faking and suppressing emotions with customers was related to drinking beyond the stress of the job or feeling negatively,&quot; Grandey said. &quot;It wasn&#39;t just feeling badly that makes them reach for a drink. Instead, the more they have to control negative emotions at work, the less they are able to control their alcohol intake after work.&quot;While previous research has shown a connection between service workers and problems with drinking, Grandey said the reasons why were not known. Forcing a smile for customers linked with more drinking after work

Many of the nation&#39;s most popular companies to work for don&#39;t require a college degree, and certain jobs are more likely to be filled with noncollege graduates than others, LinkedIn found.
Top business executives have begun questioning whether college degrees really prepare workers for careers, while some are starting to hire more and more noncollege graduates.
Students assume getting a four-year degree — and taking on the thousands of dollars of student-loan debt that comes along with it — is the only way to get your foot in the door at top companies such as Apple, Google, and Netflix.
But that isn&#39;t always true.
Prominent business leaders such as Siemens USA CEO Barbara Humpton and Apple CEO Tim Cook are already questioning the need for four-year degrees altogether. Cook recently said that about half of Apple&#39;s US employment last year included people who did not have four-year degrees. Cook reasoned that many colleges do not teach the skills business leaders need most in their workforce, such as coding.

Humpton, too, dismissed the idea that a four-year degree guarantees career-readiness: &quot;All too often, job requisitions will say they require a four-year degree, when in fact there&#39;s nothing about the job that truly requires a four-year degree — it merely helped our hiring managers sort of weed through the crowd and get a smaller qualified candidate group,&quot; Humpton recently said at the White House during the first American Workforce Policy Advisory Board meeting.

Now prominent companies such as Google and Apple are hiring employees who have the skills required to get jobs done, with or without a degree. LinkedIn found many of today&#39;s hottest companies to work for do not require that employees have a college degree. After further analysis of the data, LinkedIn identified specific positions more likely to be filled by noncollege graduates, including electronic technicians, mechanical designers, and marketing representatives.

That being said, college degrees seem to pay off. Workers that hold at least a bachelor&#39;s degree earned more than the $932 median weekly earnings for all workers in 2018, according to a recent report from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

But because degrees often require taking on student debt, many Americans cannot afford college degrees. Only 42% of high-school sophomores go on to earn a two-year or four-year degree, according to the US Department of Education. Even among students who graduate from college, a significant number of new graduates are underemployed, meaning they work jobs that don&#39;t require a college degree.

As many expect automation to displace a quarter of the workforce, experts and researchers are already tossing around alternatives to help prepare young employees for work. The pair are struggling to find a tutor to coach their teenage son through his A-level revision, after the previous one quit because they felt “uncomfortable” in the home.

The couple, who asked only to be identified as by their first names, Martin and Ada, lead a nudist lifestyle within their house but not outside it.“Like most nudists, we find it liberating and freeing, and aside from that we’re a completely normal family,” the couple said, in an email to Tutor House, a tuition agency.

The pair said their 18-year-old son was not a nudist but that he accepted his parents’ lifestyle choice. “This is why our last tutor quit, they said that they felt uncomfortable at our house, which is fair enough we know that nudism isn’t for everyone” Martin and Ada said.The family is now seeking a tutor who is “accepting” of their nudism.

Martin and Ada told Tutor House, the agency they turned to for help, that the right candidate would not have to be nude while in their house.

Due to the slightly unusual request and with A-level season looming, the pair told the agency they were willing to pay £50 an hour for a tutor to work with their son, for up to 10 hours a week.

Their 18-year-old son needs help with Maths, Physics and French revision.The agency referred to the email in their blog, and said they were “determined to help” despite the family’s slightly unconventional needs.

It is unclear how many applications the request has attracted and despite the high rate, Martin and Ada are yet to appoint a tutor.

“The majority of requests which come through the site tend to be pretty standard, we’ve certainly never received one like this before,” Alex Dyer, Tutor House’s founder, said.

“Even though this request is a lot more out there than most, we’re sure we’ll be able to help this family find the right professional for them.”

A single mom from Nevada, USA said she was in &quot;complete shock&quot; after her 13-year-old son gave her a grand gift she never expected from a boy his age. Krystal Preston posted the heartwarming story on her Facebook, sharing that her son, William Rabillo, surprised her with a car.&quot;I have no words right now that can express how I am feeling at this moment,&quot; the mom wrote. &quot;The last couple weeks have literally been hell filled with so many tears, anger, confusion and heart ache. Today I got the shock of my life.&quot;Preston said her son, who had been busy mowing lawns and cleaning yards, turned into a &quot;money making machine&quot; recently. That&#39;s why she didn&#39;t question the teen when he said he had a job to go do. When he came back home, Preston realized this time was different.&quot;William came home and said, &#39;Mom I bought you a car,&#39;&quot; Preston wrote. &quot;I of course laughed and told him, &#39;Ya right!&#39;&quot;Rabillo told his mom he was serious — he really bought her a car. He told her they had to go see it &quot;with this lady.&quot; The few details coming out of her son made Preston skeptical, but when she walked outside, there was a woman in their front yard waiting to give them a ride. Rabillo jumped in the woman&#39;s car and his mom, still puzzled, followed along. &quot;I&#39;m still thinking at this point [it&#39;s] still a joke. We pull up to this house and William says, &#39;Mom that&#39;s your car.&#39;&quot;&quot;I completely lost it,&quot; Preston wrote, adding that she started to cry. &quot;I am speechless my 13 year old son bought me a car.&quot;In an interview with KOLO-TV, Rabillo said the idea came about when he was scrolling through Facebook and found someone in his area was selling a car. He reached out and offered to give them his Xbox and do some yard work in exchange for the car. The seller took him up on his offer.&quot;And here I thought it was a joke,&quot; the mom wrote. &quot;Nope I was handed the keys and paperwork to the car and I&#39;m freaking out but so in shock.&quot;The mother and son drove off together in the white 1999 Chevrolet Metro he bought her.&quot;I am so proud of my son. He is such a good kid,&quot; Preston wrote. &quot;He may have his days but OMG what 13 year old kid do you know that buys his mom a car... William I love you son and thank you.
