BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – WEST REGION PERMANENT FULL- AND PART TIME SOCIAL CARE WORKERS CAISLEAN SERVICES, GALWAY CITY JOB REF: 140/2024W Location: Caislean Services operates a range of services including day, residential, respite, training, education, employment opportunities, Individualised services, and leisure activities which are geographically dispersed though the West Sector Adult Services. We strive to provide an excellent service, integrating the community as much as possible into the daily lives of the people supported. The successful candidate may be required to work between the various community houses and day care programme areas associated with the Caislean Services depending on service need. The Role: The Social Care Worker will report to the Social Care Leader/Team Leader and will fulfil a key worker role for individuals and aim to provide a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfils their potential and expectations with opportunity for new experiences. Reporting/Responsible To: Social Care Leader/Team Leader/Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications/Experience: Candidates must have a HETAC/DIT/NQAI BA in Applied Social Studies/Social Care Open Training College (HETAC) accredited National Degree in Applied Social Studies (Disability). Candidates should have a minimum of one year’s experience of working with people with an intellectual disability. Experience in working and supporting individuals with a variety of support needs is essential. This may include autism, complex medical needs, mental health, behavioural challenges and physical disabilities. A full clean manual Driving Licence (Class B) is essential for the appointee to drive the transport that is assigned to the Service. Fluency in verbal and written English and IT skills is an essential requirement of this post. Working Hours: All posts are 78 hours a fortnight based on a 14-day duty roster. The successful candidates will be required to work day/night duty, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ Service respectively. Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Worker Salary Scale - €38,451 x 10 increments – €53,436 (max of scale) per annum. LSI €54,445 per annum is payable after 3 Years on the maximum of the scale. Service Related Leave is also granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively. Tenure: These posts are Permanent full-time and pensionable and Temporary full-time and pensionable fixed-term for one year from the date of appointment. GALWAY JOB REF: 159 /2024E The Brothers of Charity Services in Loughrea are a community based, person centred service for adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community. We continually review the way in which we support people in line with best practice internationally. Our focus going forward is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family and communities, supporting people to plan and direct their own service so that they can enjoy a life with a healthy balance of supports. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form friendships. The Rea Services operate in Loughrea, Co. Galway, where there are a range of services including day, residential, family support services, training, education, Individualised services, and leisure activities to support adults with an intellectual disability in the Loughrea area. The Service Coordinator, under the guidance of the Area Manager, and supported by local staff teams, is responsible for the coordination and continued development of these services. Reporting/Responsible to: Area Manager/Sector Manager Qualifications/Experience/Skills: The successful candidate must have: · A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Health Sector e.g. BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or nursing qualification. · A minimum of 3 years post graduate relevant experience in management and leadership. · An appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management is a necessary requirement of the post to enable the successful candidate take on the Person in Charge role. · Proven operational experience is essential. · Budgetary/financial, employee relations and team management experience. · Excellent leadership, managerial and team-working skills are required to co-ordinate and support the service teams and to ensure that a range of high quality services are provided. · Excellent communication and organisational skills together with up to date knowledge of current thinking and practices in person centred service delivery. · Good IT skills is crucial for this role. · A full clean manual Irish driving licence. Purpose of the Post As a member of the CervicalCheck team, the purpose of this role is to support the relevant Administrative Manager, to include: • Ensuring quality assurance in service delivery to the women and commissioned services who participate in the national programme, • Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the administrative function within CervicalCheck with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail to ensure correct management of the screening pathway. • Provide support to the CervicalCheck programme management and maintain service delivery, to further develop service and structures, embracing continuous quality improvements and technology developments.
