The Role

As a Butchery Supervisor, you'll be hands-on with preparing a variety of meat cuts to meet customer and company standards, while also supporting and training the team. Your day-to-day will include setting up the counter, serving and advising customers, managing stock rotation, handling deliveries and paperwork, and keeping the area clean and organised. You’ll also help with product sampling, special offers, and supporting the management team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Hourly Pay: £12.21 to £12.41 per hour

Key Accountabilities

  • Cutting meat to meet customer and company needs
  • Helping and training team members with butchery tasks
  • Serving and advising customers
  • Setting up the counter and pre-pack areas
  • Sharing product knowledge and helping with purchases
  • Offering samples to customers
  • Rotating stock to keep it fresh
  • Taking in deliveries and filling out paperwork
  • Putting up special offer signs and materials
  • Keeping the work area clean and tidy
  • Supporting the management team as needed

Skills and Experience Required

  • Solid butchery experience, ideally in retail or manufacturing
  • Experience leading a team is a plus
  • Good understanding of food safety and legal standards
  • Great customer service skills
  • Motivated to help drive sales
  • Comfortable using basic IT systems
  • Able to guide and motivate the team each day
  • Confident stepping in to support the store manager when needed
  • Works well under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Can take initiative and work independently
