The Senior Occupational Therapist will: · Be responsible forthe effective and efficient delivery of an evidenced based, service user focused, quality infused Occupational Therapy Service. · Apply Occupational Therapy (OT) knowledge, skills and experience to support transgender / gender questioning people. · The successful candidate will possess skills and expertise in the area expected of a senior grade & work with the Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist. · The development and maintenance of high standard of clinical practice within this area through clinical evaluation, completing audit and evidence based practice · Serves as a leader in service improvement and development. Implements clinical evidence based practice, and completes audit’s as directed by the Clinical Specialist in the occupational therapy service within the national gender service. Eligibility Criteria (i) Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. (ii) Candidates for appointment must: (iii) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU. Experience of working with complex clinical presentations and co-occurring diagnoses would be beneficial. And (v) Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence. And (vi) It is desirable that candidates demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of specialism, in the form relevant courses. And (vii) Demonstrate achievement in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and/or research. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Practice The Occupational Therapist, Senior (National Gender Service) will: · Be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for service users presenting to the national gender service according to evidence base best practice and/or professional standards · Demonstrate knowledge of Occupational Therapy evidence based practice in transgender care. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings / case conferences and provide an occupational perspective to clinical decisions being made within the team as part of the initial assessment process. · Be responsible for a clinical caseload and support and delegate appropriately to Occupational Therapy staff working within their area (as appropriate as the service grows). · Ensure a high standard of Occupational therapy assessment, treatment and management is provided for service users under his/her care and ensure that professional standards of practice are adhered to. Electronic Health Record Principal Trainer
Electronic Health Record (EHR) Principal Trainer Grade V This is an exciting time to join the new Electronic Health Record (EHR) team as an EHR Principal Trainer. This role will be varied, fast-paced and you’ll be part of a team dedicated to implementing the EHR for the new CHI hospital which is due to open in 2025. We are seeking a small team of Principal Trainers to manage the production of training materials for a specific module covering several clinical and administrative areas of the hospital. This role will also work closely with the relevant EHR application team to ensure the training materials align with their configuration build. The EHR Principal Trainer is a core member of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) team. EHR Principal Trainers are assigned to a specific module(s) and will work with the training manager, Application Leads and Application teams to assist with the configuration of the module and then develop and maintain the training materials and training programme for the end users. The Principal Trainer will also undertake IT training needs analysis in support of training required to establish and utilise the most appropriate method of training delivery for all grades of staff, irrespective of digital skills, up to and including executive levels e.g. · one-to-one training sessions · classroom and workplace-based group sessions (presentations and hands on) · webinar-based training, e-learning (design and development) As part of this role the EHR Principal Trainer will be required to undertake training and achieve accreditation in the relevant EHR vendor module(s). Clinical Nurse Specialist, Candidate, Paediatric Haematology Oncology, University Hospital
Details of Service Cork University Hospital (CUH) has approximately 800 beds and this will increase further to 1,000 beds on completion of the transfer of additional services to the CUH campus. CUH currently employs approximately 4,571 (WTE) staff of multiple professions and is the primary teaching hospital for the Faculty of Health and Science in University College Cork (UCC). UCC is the Academic partner of the South/South West Hospital Group. CUH has very strong relationships with each of the six schools within the Science Faculty of UCC and this is a key area for future development to maximise the opportunities for both the service and academia. CUH is one of only two Major Trauma Centres in the Republic of Ireland due to the wide range of specialties delivered by the hospital – including Neurosciences, Cardiac Services, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Renal, Internal Medicine, Vascular, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Maxillary-Facial, Paediatrics, Intensive Care, Oncology, Haematology, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Neonatology and Emergency Medicine. CUH is JAG accredited and is a Magnet4Europe Hospital. CUH is the tertiary referral centre for the HSE Southern area, and the supra regional area of Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. Paediatric Haematology Oncology Service in CUH The Safari Unit in the CUH is one of seventeen paediatric haematology/oncology shared care centers in Ireland, with the unit providing comprehensive multidisciplinary care to this patient cohort, including the delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT). The Safari Unit is a dedicated purpose built unit, delivering day-patient and unscheduled care, along with inpatient care in single occupancy, en-suite, protective isolation rooms. The physical and psychological effects of the trajectory of illness can be overwhelming for some patients and caregivers. The CNS role is central to facilitate trust and confidence during the child’s treatment journey, address patient expectations and promote wellness, leading to improvements in patient outcomes, adherence with treatment and satisfaction with care. The CNS has a pivotal role in meeting the psychological, emotional, clinical nursing and informational needs of patients and their families referred by the tertiary centre at CHIC. The CNS will be assigned a specific clinical case load as determined by the clinical services provided. The CNS will liaise with members of the MDT involved in patient care within the hospital and externally at the tertiary referral centre, and other health care agencies such as Public Health Nursing, Social Workers, G.P’s, local pharmacies, Early Intervention teams. The caseload will involve acting as a point of contact for parents/guardians of patients living with cancer providing symptom management, advice and support, coordination of care, health promotion, education and advocacy. Purpose of the Post As outlined in this job description, the cCNS pathway will facilitate the post holder to be supported to professionally and clinically develop the skills and knowledge required to achieve the competencies of the CNS role.
