Director Of Nursing, Assistant, Extended
The Director of Nursing 3, Assistant is a trained health professional, in this case senior nurse that helps to manage a patient's care journey.
• To provide professional / clinical leadership in the designated area(s) of responsibility.
• To assist in the delivery of a high level of effective clinical care and support to residents in a residential care setting
• To oversee the management of resources including staffing and staff development.
• To facilitate communication across the healthcare teams (meetings , committee work, professional development planning)
• Managing and developing nurse education and training.
• The position requires a strategic approach to the development of services and structures while engaging with continuous quality improvement.
• Management of change to comply with HIQA standards and National Standards for Resident safety.
• Auditing to ensure quality assurance in the service in line with best practice.
• Management of human and financial resources within defined limits.
• Cover for the Director of Nursing Role as required.
The Assistant Director of Nursing 3 (ADON3) will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing, developing and evaluating the nursing service in accordance with regional and national policies and strategies.
The post holder is primarily responsible for the provision of a high quality and safe nursing service. This will involve professional leadership to nursing staff at all levels, providing professional advice, ensuring achievement of operational and strategic objectives and proactively developing nursing roles in accordance with the needs of the patients.
They will operationalise the core values of nursing by ensuring the patient experience is of the highest possible standard at all times with particular emphasis on dignity, kindness and compassion.
