Loading Bay/ Carcase Despatch Operator
The Company Irish Country Meats was established in 1992 and is the specialist sheep meat company of the ABP Food Group and the largest sheep meat processor on the island of Ireland, with state-of-the-art production facilities in Camolin, Co. Wexford and Navan, Co. Meath. The Role Reporting directly to the Loading Bay Manager and working within a team the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: · Order picking to customer requirements. · Loading and unloading of carcases from trucks. . Ensure quality standards and Health & Safety requirements are always adhered to. . Use power pallet truck may be required but training will be given. · Have a flexible approach, an ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. · Experience in similar role an advantage. · Good communication skills and experience working with a team. .There will be scope for career progression for the successful candidate either internally or within the wider group. We are currently looking for an Agricultural Liaison Officer to join our Advantage Team to support our Wexford area. As an of Agricultural Liaison for ABP, your duties and tasks will include : · Represent ABP, be the face of the business and the direct point of contact for our suppliers. · Provide on-farm advice and guidance to our beef farmers & customers on a range of topics including genetics, soil health, nutrition and sustainability measures. · Liaise with the Procurement Team on a regular basis. · To develop and deliver the agreed business plans for your area. · Work with our suppliers directly to identify and evaluate their business or technical requirements on a one to one basis. · Attend public events as part of a team to represent the Advantage brand. · Support farmers in planning for and implementing improved management practices. · Coordinate and deliver local dissemination events such as farm walks and meetings with media outputs. · Writing advisory leaflets, technical notes and articles when required. · Administrative duties, preparing reports and updating data on a regular basis. · Keeping up to date with relevant developments in the agri-business sector. · Assist in developing knowledge transfer initiatives and provide regular updates to senior management. · Travelling from Supplier to supplier, representing the ABP Advantage brand, and showcasing our offering. Key Requirements: · T hird level degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline is desired · 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role · Expert agricultural knowledge and ability to demonstrate best practices and research data. · Understanding the need to identify and implement practical applications in order to enhance the capabilities of farms & other enterprises. · Be able to keep up to date with the latest methods that may give farmers a competitive edge · Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities · Strategic agility and a drive to achieve results · Practical experience and a sound knowledge of farm management · Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken · Ability to build and maintain relationships · Technical and analytical ability including good IT skills · Excellent organisational and time management skills · Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team · Dairy and beef farm experience preferable (personal or professional) · Technically strong on animal nutrition and husbandry · Valid clean driving license · Flexible and willing to travel Are You Interested? 1. Tenure of Employment This post is Permanent Full time 78 hours per fortnight position. Compulsory retirement age is 70 years. 2. Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate must: · Have a third level qualification relevant to the provision of services to individuals with intellectual disabilities or at a minimum a QQI Level 5 major award (8 components) Or · One year completed of an ongoing relevant third level qualification relevant to the provision of services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. · Relevant experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities/autism · Have excellent communication skills. · Have the ability to listen and respond to the needs of people who use services. · Have the ability to be innovative and creative and work on one’s own initiative. · Be computer literate. · Possess a full clean manual driving licence · Experience of working as a member of a team is essential.
