Senior Occupational Therapist, Care Of The Older Person

The Therapist will have responsibility for provision of specialised out-patient Occupational Therapy Service for the Care of the Older Service. This service is part of the wider Care of the Older Person Occupational Therapy service which comprises the Frailty Intervention Team (FIT), the Acute Medical Assessment Unit, the Specialist Geriatric Ward and specialist off site post-acute care service. There is a strong MDT focus across the services with the use of the Comprehensive geriatric assessment from ED throughout, with a home first ethos. Clinical input may be required into other speciality service from time to time. Established in 2010, St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network operates from three Dublin locations SLRON is the National Radiation Oncology Centre in Ireland. The Network provides a full range of world class treatments including a comprehensive Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) programme, Intra-cranial Stereotactic, Extra-cranial Stereotactic, Total Body Irradiation (TBI) and the national paediatric service. There is also a comprehensive brachytherapy service provided, including prostate seeds. SLRON offers the opportunity to work with leading Radiation Oncology Consultants in a dynamic and progressive health care environment. The nursing department plays a central role in the delivery of quality care to a diverse group of radiation oncology patients. We also have a dedicated palliative care team based in St. Luke’s Hospital Rathgar. Here at SLRON we are committed to our nurses’ professional development. As a network, we actively support and encourage our nursing staff, at all levels, to enhance their skills, develop and expand their professional practice, and participate in continuing training and postgraduate education programmes. All nursing staff undertake an in-house Radiation Oncology Nursing Certificate course. We are partnered academically with Trinity College Dublin. The team structure consists of CNM3, CNM2, CNM1, Staff Nurses and HCAs supported by ADON and DON. Medical Clinical supervision is on site at all times. Trauma/vascular Surgery, Registrar

Contract info: Commencing 14th July 2025. 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be based within the Vascular Department contributing to the Vascular service and on call rota with an intermittent rotation to the trauma service within the Hospital. The Mater Hospital has been designated as the Major Trauma Centre (MTC) for the Central Trauma Network and will establish a team for the care of major trauma patients (the In Patient Trauma Service). The post holder will rotate through the Trauma Service. The trauma service is led by a number of consultants including Orthopaedic, Vascular, Thoracic, Emergency Medicine, Maxillofacial and General Surgery with a sub-specialty interest in trauma. The team also includes 6 Registrars, 2 ANPs and 3 Trauma Coordinators with strong links to a number of other liaison services recognising the multi-system impact of major trauma. Registrars will have an opportunity to develop a range of interests in this highly exciting development at The Mater including research, audit and innovation as well as consultant led trauma focussed educational programmes, point of care ultrasound, simulation training and trauma procedures.
