Healthcare Chaplain Purpose and Summary of Post: Provide specialist pastoral care services and accompaniment to service users, their families and staff members in accordance with the Order’s policies on Pastoral Care and in keeping with appropriate best practice. Liaise with and report to the designated person at each service with regard to the planning, delivery and implementation of pastoral care and accompaniment activities within the service. The Chaplain will recognise and value other people’s belief systems in a developing multi-cultural society through co-ordination with representatives or ministers of all faiths and to develop links with other denominations as appropriate. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Criteria · Level 8 Degree or Higher in Theology from a recognised third level institution. · Three Three units of Clinical Pastoral Education in an approved Centre, or equivalent qualifications as determined by the Healthcare Chaplaincy Board. · Be a Certified Chaplain Recognised by the Healthcare Chaplaincy Board (HCB) or the Chaplaincy Accreditation Board (CAB). Essential Criteria: (A) (i) Have a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited qualification at not less than a Level 8 at 2.1 honours grade on the QQI qualifications framework in which psychology was a major subject.
