BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND , LIMERICK REGION Applications are invited for the following position: ON-CALL SUPPORT WORKER 1 x Specific Purpose Part Time Contract (60/78 hours per fortnight) LOCATION: LIMERICK COMMUNITY SERVICES This post involves providing responsive support as required to community based residential services across Limerick City and West Limerick as required. The successful candidate will commit to working a fixed rolling fortnightly roster across 14 days. Fixed Term Contract: - Week 1: Sunday 10.00-22.30 Wednesday 15.30-22.30, Thursday 15.30-22.30 - Week 2: Monday 15.30-22.30, Tuesday 15.30-22.30, Friday 15.30-22.30, Saturday 10.00-22.30 (or 08.00-20.30 on sat/sun with notice) Opportunities to work additional hours to those listed may be available from time to time if desired. Essential · Possess a positive regard for persons with a disability and a commitment to enriching the lives of others with positive therapeutic approaches. · Demonstrate initiative, good interpersonal and teamwork skills · Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in email, phone and electronic systems communication. · Display a good working knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards · Flexibility and adaptability required to work within different service area locations. · A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement. NB. The nature of this particular role requires the successful candidate to procure insurance indemnity in order to drive to different locations for work, and to be able to claim back associated mileage expenses. Desirable · Candidates must have a good general education. A recognised qualification appropriate to the Field of intellectual disability is an advantage. QQI Level 5 or higher is desirable and candidate should be willing to work toward same. · Experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability, or have experience transferrable to this sector.
