We are recruiting for an  Environmental & Sustainability Officer  to join our team. The successful candidate will be based in ABP Clones, Teehill, Clones, Co Monaghan. Job Description The Environmental & Sustainability Officer is responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of the site, coordinating and implementing a site-wide environmental strategy. They manage the sustainability policies of the company and achieve targets set by the company on reducing energy, waste, emissions etc. Key Responsibilities: · Maintain, implement, and manage environmental policies and management systems. · Support and maintain ISO 14001 certification & ISO 50001 as required to ensure compliance with the standard · Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, staying updated on both Irish and European regulations. · Liaise with relevant bodies such as the EPA, local authorities, and public organizations. · Monitor all emissions and emission points in accordance with licensing requirements. · Generate reports in response to legislative requirements inherent in the licenses. · Oversee the operational management and supervision of the site’s wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), support the WWTP Operator on a daily basis to ensure compliance and completing daily WWTP paperwork. · Continuously review electricity and water usage as part of energy management efforts. · Manage sludge treatment optimization and removal operations. · Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives. · Lead sustainability reporting and improvement initiatives focused on recycling and waste reduction. · Responsible for upkeep of The Environmental Management System. · Assist in and provide input for project management involving the installation of new environmental equipment and technology. · Contribute to the development and implementation of site decarbonization plans. · Attend Audits & site inspections for EPA licence, ISO 14001, 50001, EWS · Lead by example, upholding the company’s values in all areas of work. Essential Requirements: · Qualification in a relevant subject related to Environment and Sustainability Management · At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, with experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment considered desirable but not essential. · Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance. · Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills. · Ability to work independently, demonstrate innovation, and manage multiple tasks while prioritizing effectively. · Capability to influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. · Experience working with multidisciplinary groups and stakeholders both on-site and within the broader organization. The Environmental & Sustainability Officer will be reporting directly to the site General Manager and Group Environmental & Sustainability Manager. Key Responsibilities: · Maintain Site Services including RO Plant, WWTP, Refrigeration systems · Carry out start-up / shut down checks on machinery throughout the plant on a daily basis. · Ensure that all breakdowns are carried out swiftly and safely at all times. · Ensure that all servicing and maintenance throughout the site is done in an efficient, safe and hygienic manner. · Repairs, servicing and good maintenance of machinery. · Work on refrigeration, plumbing and all breakdowns is carried out in a safe and tidy manner. · Implement and follow the preventative maintenance schedule. · Ensure that records are completed. · Ensure complete compliance with the Company Health & Safety Policy. · Maintain good housekeeping in the workplace · Other duties as assigned.
