Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of: Special Class Teacher – Hours in Co-operation St.Peter’s Special School (Roll Number: 18904U) Home Economics Teacher – 6 hours per week Ref: HICPSHE242 St Peter’s School is a Special School situated in Rathgar, Dublin 6, which caters for the needs of sixty young people with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. The school is funded by the Department of Education and Science and serves a wide catchment area in Southwest Dublin. Age profile: 4 years to 18 years. City of Dublin Education and Training Board (City of Dublin ETB) was established on 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. City of Dublin ETB has 3,000 employees and an annual budget of €580m. It is the state education and training authority for Dublin city and serves the area covered by Dublin City Council. This provision is delivered to over 48,000 learners (20,000 full-time and 28,000 part-time) and is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings maintenance unit and Head Office staff in Ballsbridge. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City. City of Dublin ETB is also responsible for the national awarding authority for student grants in Ireland, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). Proposed Timeframe: Shortlisting will take place week beginning: 2nd December 2024. Interviews will be held week commencing: 9th December 2024. *All dates are subject to change and are for guidance only Salary: As per salary scales laid down by the Department of Education (salary pro-rata commensurate with number of contract hours). Monitor and report on the attendance and progress of young people and groups. Maintain appropriate records as required by the programme. Attend staff meetings and participate in in-service training as required. Contribute to the development of an appropriate young person environment. Ideally, individuals would display a range of skills and experience in their chosen area of expertise and display a strong record of accomplishment of developing and delivering QQI training within a framework of best practice.
