BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – SOUTHERN REGION The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area. We are seeking an energetic, committed Senior Social Worker to join our Children’s Disability Network Team 1, Listowel, Co. Kerry. Applications are invited for the following:- SOCIAL WORKER Ref: 45/2024 Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week) Children Disability Network Team 1 (North Kerry) Based in Listowel, Co. Kerry (Outreach to families from the Castleisland Area) Job Summary The person/s appointed to this post will work as part of inter-disciplinary team delivering a coordinated approach to children/young people from 0-18 years across all disabilities, which includes intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities sensory/motor disabilities and Autism. This post is in Network 1: North Kerry Children Disability Network Team with an outreach to families from the Castleisland/Farranfore area. The criteria for CNDT is children with complex needs arising from a disability, where those needs require the support of an interdisciplinary disability team. This might include children with intellectual, physical, sensory disability, Autism and children at risk of or query developmental delay. The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland will employ the successful candidate. The Social Worker will work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation and CDNT. The Social Workers will be responsible for the provision of a high quality service and will carry out Social Work duties as required. She/he will be required to work as a key contact for particular cases as well as participation in Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP). The reporting relationship is to the Children’s Disability Network Manager (CDNM) for operation issues and Clinical Governance is with CDNM and Social Work Head of Department (HOD). The Social Work Head of Department will provide clinical supervision. The Candidate: Professional Qualifications, Experience etc. Eligible applicants will be those on the closing date for the competition: Must be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU. AND Must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued. Must possess a full driving licence which qualifies you to drive on Irish road with means of transport Must have a minimum of 1 years’ post graduate experience of working, as a Professionally Qualified Social Worker. It is desirable to have experience working with families, Inter-disciplinary team within the disability sector. Annual registration On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU. AND Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. Senior Occupational Therapist In Burns And Hand Therapy Service
The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality Occupational Therapy service to the children and adolescents under the medical specialities of Burns, Plastics and Orthopaedic Hands. The post holder will work as part of the cross-site CHI Occupational Therapy - Burns and Hand Therapy team with main clinical duties based within CHI at Temple Street. On occasion this may also involve travelling to other CHI sites to support clinics. The post holder will work as part of the surgical Multidisciplinary Teams to assess and treat the following patient groups: - Children with acute hand trauma managed both conservatively and surgically. - Children with congenital hand differences - Children with burns Essential Criteria: · Be registered as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU with the registration number listed on the CV or evidence of application being processed with CORU. · At least 3 years’ full time (or an aggregate of 3 years’ full time) post qualification clinical experience. · At least 6 months' experience in the assessment and treatment of hand and/or burn injuries in the clinical areas of Burns and Plastic Surgery or Orthopaedic Surgery.
