Basic Grade Psychologist The purpose of the role: This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing multidisciplinary team as Staff Grade Psychologist to join in the delivery of assessments and interventions to individuals and their families attending the service. The post holder will be an integral member of the MDT developing and delivering pathways to children and adolescents/families that are referred to the service. The post holder will work closely with MDT colleagues in assessment of clients referred to the service, development of individualised multidisciplinary care plans, attending case conferences, MDT meetings and other team meetings. The Psychologist will also participate in service delivery, service monitoring and evaluation, provision of training and development of integrated care to ensure a streamlined hospital/primary care interface. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Principal Psychologist Essential Criteria: · Hold a recognised University degree or diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject or hold a recognised qualification equivalent to above And · Hold a relevant post-graduate professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland. Or · Hold a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children. Applicants should refer to the Dept. of Health & Children regulations on the Employment of Psychologists in the Health Services, as well as, the PSI Guidelines on Post Graduate Training & Qualifications · Be eligible for Staff Grade having completed post graduate professional training. · Experience of psychological assessment and intervention with children, young people and their families. Or ii. Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irisp. Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent examination in another jurisdiction. Or iv. Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI). Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher-level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme. The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. And (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office. Assistant Psychologist
Assistant Psychologist We are recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist in the Psychology Department. This is a 2-year contract post. Assistant Psychologists are managed and supervised by St Michael’s House Psychologists, while working alongside PICs and frontline staff in our Adult Services. They contribute to psychological and positive behaviour support interventions, including: carrying out systematic observations and functional assessments; recording, monitoring and evaluating interventions and training programmes; contributing to evidence-based clinical formulations; assisting with staff and service-user training programmes; conducting research literature reviews; assisting with research and evaluation projects, etc. Essential Requirements · Bachelor's Degree (or Equivalent) in Psychology at 2.1 level or above from a PSI-accredited Psychology course. · Experience and interest in supporting adults with moderate, severe or profound Intellectual Disability. · Full, clean Driver's License.
