Basic Grade Psychologist
The purpose of the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing multidisciplinary team as Staff Grade Psychologist to join in the delivery of assessments and interventions to individuals and their families attending the service. The post holder will be an integral member of the MDT developing and delivering pathways to children and adolescents/families that are referred to the service.
The post holder will work closely with MDT colleagues in assessment of clients referred to the service, development of individualised multidisciplinary care plans, attending case conferences, MDT meetings and other team meetings. The Psychologist will also participate in service delivery, service monitoring and evaluation, provision of training and development of integrated care to ensure a streamlined hospital/primary care interface.
Clinical supervision will be provided by the Principal Psychologist
Essential Criteria:
· Hold a recognised University degree or diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject or hold a recognised qualification equivalent to above
And
· Hold a relevant post-graduate professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Or
· Hold a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children. Applicants should refer to the Dept. of Health & Children regulations on the Employment of Psychologists in the Health Services, as well as, the PSI Guidelines on Post Graduate Training & Qualifications
· Be eligible for Staff Grade having completed post graduate professional training.
· Experience of psychological assessment and intervention with children, young people and their families.
