The business has grown organically, and through acquisition and investment in the latest processing technologies. Balcas’ timber products portfolio includes construction timber, fencing and landscaping products and pallet and packaging material. Balcas has led the development of the market for wood pellet fuel in Ireland and Britain. Balcas operates biomass Combined Heat and Power plants that produce renewable energy. Residual heat from electricity generation is used to dry locally sourced woodfibre that is then processed into high-energy fuel pellets, displacing 750 million litres of oil in homes, commercial premises and industry. Purpose of the Job As a member of a small team, the job holder will assist with stockpiling logs/residues and keeping the different mills on site supplied with logs. Hours of Work As and when required – covering both Dayshift and Nightshift. Senior Project Coordinator
The postholder will be responsible for co-ordinating ICBAN’s functions in the delivery of a number of funded projects, including DS3 and GEMINI (recently supported under the PEACEPLUS programme). DS3 is a Smart Towns and Villages project engaging civil and business communities in the adoption of ICT solutions in community service delivery and economic activity, to create more connected and sustainable communities. GEMINI (Geothermal Energy Momentum on the Island of Ireland) aims to identify and demonstrate sustainable geothermal energy solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions The postholder is also required to identify new cross-border development opportunities and develop novel solutions that address priority regional needs, and steer new project concepts through to reality.
