Engineering Placement Student (Automation) Location: Craigavon, Northern Ireland Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: Competitive Business Unit : Central Services Open To : Internal and External Applicants Ref No.: HRJOB10123 The Role Working as part of the Automation Engineering Project department based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, the overall objective of this role is to assist the Project, Process and Automation Engineers with the engineering design, project management, commissioning and operation of plant and systems to the highest industrial and pharmaceutical standards (cGMP). Day-to-day duties for this role would include assisting Project Engineers in designing and commissioning Automation Control Systems, Environmental Monitoring Systems and Building Management Systems. It would be the expectation that the Placement Student would also lead their own project before the end of their placement year. The student would also be trained and have exposure to a number of existing control and monitoring systems and would assist in the normal maintenance duties. This role will expose and expand your knowledge across the pharmaceutical sector as well as programming, project management, analytical & problem-solving skills, data management and attention to detail. This is currently a team of 25 including: · 1x Engineering Director. · 2x System Delivery/Support Managers. · 22x Project/Support Engineers. Working Pattern This role will be based on a flex working pattern. This means you can work between the hours of 7am – 7pm with a requirement to work the core hours of 10am – 4pm. Essential Criteria · Have eligibility to work in the UK OR possess a valid work permit that will allow you to take up full time employment in the UK. · Educated to A Level standard (or equiv.) · Currently studying an Engineering based degree with successful completion of 2 years by the end of this academic year. It focuses on the development of a range of skills such as Engineering Drawing Electrical and Electronic Technology, OEM Practices, Mechatronics, Analytical & Problem solving, and Industrial Robotics that are needed in growing service and manufacturing areas. A full award placed at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (EQF 4) which includes proficiency in Mathematics 3. Have successfully completed an approved pre-apprenticeship training course in an engineering discipline and demonstrate a proficiency in Mathematics similar to O6 in Leaving Certificate 4. In the case where an applicant is 23 years or over (or employed in the OEM sector for 3 years) and does not meet the educational requirements specified above, they may apply through the Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) process
