Events & Marketing Coordinator
The Friends of the National Gallery of Ireland (FNGI) was established in 1986 to support the activities of the Gallery by recruiting membership, to encourage an appreciation of painting, sculpture and architecture. It is a self-funding organisation with a charitable status (RCN 20158958). It is committed to promoting the Gallery and its collections and to expanding awareness and appreciation of the visual arts through a range of educational and social events. Members play an important role in supporting the Gallery in various aspects of its work and can avail of a number of benefits related to membership. The FNGI wish to recruit an Events & Marketing Coordinator. Reporting to the Friends Manager, the successful candidate will carry out the following tasks: · Develop the annual programming of events and activities for the Friends of the National Gallery of Ireland both online and in-person highlighting the National Collection and Gallery activities to new and existing Friends and Patrons · Project manage all Friends events, Gallery based, online, and off-site · Create online events on TicketSolve and manage and report on event bookings · Liaise with Friends and exhibition ticket desk staff · Assist in increasing the geographical reach of membership, including digital/hybrid opportunities for events · Enhance and promote the activities of the Friends organisation through creative and fresh ideas on marketing and communications including campaigns and social media · Broaden the membership profile through innovative and creative techniques and exploit every opportunity to source and attract new members and retain current Friends and Patrons. · Work closely with the Friends Manager and Retention co-ordinator to identify opportunities for retention through Friends programming · Devise and manage new PR and marketing campaigns for the Friends and liaise closely with the Gallery's Communications, Marketing and Digital Engagement department. · Review the success and achievements of PR and marketing campaigns against agreed targets, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development. KPIs will include open rates and conversion rates · Generate reporting on events and marketing strategies and plans as well as outcomes · Ensure a top rate, professional and specialist service to existing Friends members and maintain a high level of member satisfaction via varied communications and events · Support the development and delivery of a marketing programme and communications plan for the Friends of NGI · Manage all Friends marketing and communications including weekly E-Zine, Friends YouTube Channel, marketing campaigns, PR and marketing and liaising with Gallery teams · Support the Friends Team in developing and maintaining accurate membership records and databases · Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including curatorial and visitor experience · Liaise and collaborate with other Gallery departments and internal stakeholders where relevant – Events, Volunteers, Marketing and Digital, Curatorial, etc. and operate a good working relationship with external stakeholders and suppliers · Cover for Membership Services Administrator and on Friends Desk as needed · Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Friends Manager The successful candidate will have: · A proven track record in marketing and/or event/arts management · Experience in areas such as marketing, membership, budgeting, public relations and market research · A proven interest in and knowledge of art · Experience in programming and coordinating events and /or tours · A high standard of computer competency, IT literacy and a working knowledge of one or more CRM / database systems and web applications · A diplomatic, open and professional disposition that places emphasis on building and maintaining positive relationships · Effective time management skills with an ability to manage an extensive workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines · A proven ability to work on collaborative projects to deliver results on target · An ability to work as part of a wider team to ensure efficient cooperation between the Friends organisation and other Gallery departments · Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) · A qualification in marketing and/or event/arts management would be desirable Note: This job description is a guide to broad areas of responsibility and accountability and should not be regarded as a comprehensive listing.
