Background: The Mater Misericordae University Hospital (MMUH) is a model 4 teaching hospital committed to providing the highest quality service to all our patients with compassion and professionalism. We work closely with our academic partner University College Dublin to deliver cutting edge research that has a direct impact on patient care and also supporting clinical education at an undergraduate and post graduate level. In April 2021 the Mater hospital was designated Major Trauma Centre for the Central Trauma Network. Outpatient physiotherapy is based on the main MMUH campus and at Smithfield Minor injuries unit and the post-holder may be required to work across both sites. The out-patient physiotherapy service at MMUH provides treatment for a wide range of orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and rheumatological conditions referred from hospital consultants (Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Fracture service, Plastics, Emergency Department, Smithfield Minor injuries unit, Pain, Occupational Health, MSK triage service and other specialities). ABF Accountant

The ABF Accountant will work as part of the senior finance team to record, analyse and allocate cost to the individual services provided and to the cost of each individual episode of patient care (e.g. medications, procedures, tests, accommodation, etc). This will require an ability to understand the information available from a number of separate systems and work with Finance Department, IT, HIPE, Clinicians and, Departmental Managers to develop an effective and reliable solution. They will establish an appropriate costing function for the Hospital for ABF purposes. They will validate and provide Financial/ABF Reporting and Management information by assembling and summarising data, preparing reports/data, and making presentation of findings and recommendations on a timely basis to a consistently high standard and in the required format. CNM Acute Surgical Assessment Unit
Job Overview Acute Surgical Assessment Units (ASAU), as defined in the NCPS Acute Model of Care 2013 (RCSI Press, 2012), set out a process whereby considerable efficiency and safety benefits may accrue to acutely ill surgical patients. The ASAU constitutes one component of the Acute Floor which also includes an ED, Resuscitation Unit and Acute Medical Unit as well as an age related assessment unit. ASAUs are designed to deal with a significant throughput of acutely unwell surgical patients, not unwell to the level where they require active resuscitation. Category 1s and 2 patients (Manchester Triage System) will continue through the ED/resuscitation streams. The primary aim of an ASAU as set out in the Minimum Standards for Acute Surgical Assessment Units in Ireland (NCPS, 2023) is to deliver Senior Decision Making early in the pathway of selected acute surgical patients. Treatment may either be on the spot, by ambulatory or outpatient care or patients may require admission. The role of the ASAU CNM2 is to manage the department, support patients, relatives and staff through the provision of clinical, managerial and educational excellence. The CNM2 will play a pivotal role in the co-ordination and management of activity and resources associated with ASAU. They will work in partnership with all staff members including the Directorate Nurse Manager, CNM3, Director of Nursing, Site Nurse Managers (SNM), Clinical Director /Specialty Consultants and the inter/trans-disciplinary teams to maintain , develop and improve patient centered, quality, safe care.
