Clinical Nurse Manager II, Operational Emergency Department
Purpose of the Role: The Clinical Nurse Manager II has a pivotal role in supporting the CNM III in the co-ordination, strategic planning and management of nursing activities and staff resources within the Emergency department at CHI Temple Street. The post holder will work within a risk management framework to achieve HIQA Safer Better Healthcare standards. The post holder will provide professional and managerial leadership, particularly in the areas of staff development and future planning, ensuring that nursing practices allow the achievement of local, hospital and national objectives in the area of the Paediatric Emergency department. Eligibility criteria, qualifications, and experience: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered. And (ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area. And (iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. And (iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development. The purpose of this Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist Lung Cancer The Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist will work with the multi-professional rapid access lung cancer, surgical, radiation oncology and medical oncology team in the promotion of a patient centred approach to cancer patients and their families. In doing so, he/she will provide nursing expertise, education and a management consultation service to patients, their relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team in all areas of this specialty. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to nurse-led quality initiatives which meet national, regional and local standards in cancer and supportive care. Deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4thedition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008 Caseload The CANDIDATE CNS LUNG CANCER will focus on the following patient caseload. Adults over 16 with lower LUNG cancer and patients for surgery and cancer survivorship follow up in the MMUH.
