Maintenance Technican

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to be part of the Maintenance team working to maintain Moore Concrete’s plant and equipment in accordance with the laid down Health & Safety Standards. Plant includes the computerised Batching Plant, mould equipment and repairing machinery. Machinery includes mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatics and computerised systems. Maintain on-site equipment, forklift trucks, HGV, vans and other vehicles. ​​​​​​​Hours of work: 12hr shift pattern 4-day week Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat (6am – 6pm with Saturday being 6am – 5pm) and 3-day week Tues-Thurs (6am – 6pm). This will be rotated between shift teams. Shift allowance will be payable. Key Duties include: Ensure high quality maintenance standards are achieved and safe working practices are adhered to at all times. Carry out PPM tasks efficiently and provide necessary feedback to maintenance supervisors on timescales involved. Demonstrate flexibility in responding to breakdowns, within critical work processes. Assist in operator training sessions. Ensure all maintenance, quality and health & safety records are maintained. Report any problems in relation to Quality and Health & Safety to supervisor. Suggest ways of improving maintenance activities, work practices and implement agreed improvements. Any other duties, within reason and capability. Person Specification: Familiar with various types of plant and machinery Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics Understanding of basic electrics Ability to weld/fabricate Willing to develop skill base and knowledge Flexibility with overtime is essential. What does the Maintenance team do? This team are responsible for our manufacturing equipment, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum and productivity is high through reactive and preventative maintenance, as well as conditional monitoring and continuous improvement, by taking ownership of tasks carried out. The manufacturing equipment ranges from new state of the art Filling and Capping machines, Freeze Driers, Freezers, Robots, Printing and labelling, to bespoke lines and older equipment. Using fault finding skills to identify and rectify equipment faults in a timely fashion, recording details and identifying root causes. This team also supports in new equipment installations (including validation), and various improvement project. Identifying critical spares, ordering and maintaining stock. Location: Crumlin and Antrim, Northern Ireland. Occasional cover for our other sites in NI and ROI. Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week over 4 days, alternating Monday to Thursday and Tuesday to Friday, from 7am-5:40pm, including lunch. Flexibility needed. What does the Maintenance Technician role involve? This role is responsible for the response of machine breakdowns and to identify the root cause, create solutions, and carry out corrective action as appropriate. This is a varied role that will require you to develop a varied skillset, including: Carry out planned preventive maintenance for all process machinery and equipment. Revise and update preventative tasks and schedule as required. Assist with validation on current / new equipment. Maintaining technical documentation e.g.: specifications, design drawings, design calculations, reports, procedures, and documents required by the quality management system and maintenance manuals. Identify repeat failures and run continuous improvement projects to improve performance/cost effectiveness. Carry out risk assessment / method statements to ensure all work is carried out within H&S Regulations. Maintain and support tasks on High-Speed automated equipment, including state of the art Filling, Capping Labelling equipment, leading in design and technology. Review and update critical spares. Training and mentoring of others as part of continuous improvement. On call rota done on rotation. Essential Criteria: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. 3-5 Years of manufacturing experience. Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals. Experience with motor control systems, process controls, pneumatics and PLC/ PC control system. Knowledge and experience of preventative maintenance practices. Experience of working as a Maintenance Technician, carrying out electrical / mechanical machinery repairs, fault finding and problem solving within a manufacturing environment. Current driving licence. Able to work flexible hours as required. Desirable: Experience of similar process machinery (Filling, Capping, Labelling and Printing) Experience In a CGMP environment. HNC OR higher in engineering.
