Purpose of the Post The primary purpose of this post is to provide a high quality patient focused Cardiac Diagnostic Service in PUH and support the provision of the Community Cardiac Diagnostic Service. To achieve this the successful candidate will be expected to assume a guiding role on a daily basis within the assigned clinical area. They will be expected to positively contribute their technical knowledge and acquired clinical acumen, consistent with the operating procedures and guidelines for PUH, to ensure patient care is fully optimised in line with the departmental aspiration to achieve a high technical quality and deliver diagnostics in an efficient and caring manner. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate and support continuous professional development and provide, in partnership with the Chief Cardiac Physiologists, ad-hoc academic support for the clinical workforce both within Cardiology and, where considered clinically beneficial, to other colleagues within the profession. To ensure all initiatives are contiguous with the direction of the department and to underpin the success of the role, the Staff Grade Cardiac Physiologist will be invited to contribute on areas of interest to the Senior Operational Team. As required this operational team is comprised of the Chief II Cardiac Physiologist, Chief I Cardiac Physiologist, Assistant General Manager and a designated clinical lead representing the Consultant Cardiologist.
