About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join the Kerry team in Carrickmacross This is a Permanent Role. Key responsibilities Maintain the discharge from the effluent treatment plant within EPA IEL & Council licence parameters. Accurately measuring and recording all licence parameters COD, BOD, Temperature, pH, Flow etc.. Maintain the day to day running of the effluent plant, including problem solving and continuous improvement of the treatment process, chemical usage and presenting the plant for audits. To evaluate and create the procedures required to operate the effluent treatment plant using the KPS work instruction template. Accurately collect, evaluate and record environmental data to populate both internal and external environmental reports. To assist in preparing environmental information for quarterly and annual reviews. Daily floor audits of the production areas per production stream, to ensure that environmental management systems are being adhered to and proper controls are in place to reduce waste. Escalating Issues were appropriate Support the ZBCO & KPS Continuous Improvement initiatives through optimised work planning and A3 problem solving and demonstrate proactivity within all areas of responsibility. Implement and maintain site wide water reduction program through continuous analysing and evaluation of water usage and demand using the eSight platform & meter readings. Strive for cost reduction and waste elimination in all areas of responsibility effluent chemicals, effluent sludge, food waste etc. Daily external audits to ensure that the overall appearances of the external yard, river, recycling & waste areas are maintained to a high standard Qualifications and skills
