Group ESG Manager

Role Introduction: Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations. The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 16,000 people. Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and to support this ambitious growth, we are seeking to onboard a Group ESG Manager who will support and implement the ESG strategy across the business and ensure compliance with mandatory reporting requirements globally. This role will form part of the ESG team and reports to the Group Head of ESG. It is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to excel. The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit into Applegreen seamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role. Key Responsibilities: Applegreen are seeking a highly motivated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) professional who will lead and work closely with teams across our global business (USA, UK and ROI) and support functions to influence and report on ESG solutions, ensuring compliance with mandatory ESG regulations such as CSRD, SEC, ISSB and TCFD. As Applegreen expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas: · Drive the delivery of the ESG policy and strategy, in collaboration with colleagues across the business, embedding it throughout the organisation. · Track and report on progress on ESG implementation plans. · Responsible for ESG reporting requirements & management of the data collection process. · Monitoring and analysis of data to support GHG emissions KPIs. · Collect, analyse, and report on ESG metrics and performance indicators, use data to identify trends and areas for improvement. · Support the businesses stakeholder engagement ensuring alignment with sustainability policy and ambitions. · Supply Chain engagement to align and achieve a net zero future. · Support the wider business in the delivery of ESG related goals. · Attention to detail and the ability to work successfully in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment. · Communicate ESG performance and progress to stakeholders, including investors, employees, and customers.
