We transcribe school books into a variety of accessible formats including braille, large print, digital and 3D. We currently have vacancies for Text Editors within our Reading Services team producing educational materials for both primary and secondary level students. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated person who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting inclusive and accessible education. Full training in how to transcribe these formats will be provided to all new team members and a prior knowledge of braille, while advantageous, is not a requirement. ChildVision runs a Learn Braille course for learning to read and write braille by sight and all successful candidates will be enrolled and supported in this course. (potential for hybrid working after completion of training) Reading Services also supports a Children's and Resource Library service and Assistive Technology use with our students.
