Job summary We are currently recruiting for Production Operatives to join our growing Production team on a permanent and temporary basis. The purpose of this role is to operate as part of our expanding team in the production of precast concrete products in accordance with Company standards and targets, adhering to the daily production plan e.g., preparing moulds, pouring concrete, producing all planned products, carrying out tasks effectively and meeting health and safety standards. As part of our growing team, you will be contributing to the construction Industry and also award-winning projects across the UK and Ireland. Hours of work: Option 1: 12hr Shift (Pattern 1) 4-day week (6am-6pm) Mon-Thurs and 3-day week Thur-Sat (6am-6pm with Saturday being 6am-5pm). (Pattern 2) 4-day week Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat (6am – 6pm with Saturday being 6am – 5pm) and 3-day week Tues-Thurs (6am – 6pm). Pattern of work will be agreed following successful interview. Shift allowance will be payable. Option 2: Hours will be variable between 32-48 hours per week as needed. Standard hours of work will be Monday – Friday 05:00am – 14:00pm or 06:00am – 15:00pm, however flexibility to work overtime and/or Saturdays as necessary is essential. Hours of work will be confirmed following successful interview, as per needs of the business. Job responsibilities: To comply with the SHEQ Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management system To participate in all aspects of the Operational Excellence approach. To operate as part of the team to achieve the adherence to the daily production plan e.g., moulds prepared, all planned products produced, tasks being carried out efficiently etc. To participate in any training as agreed per the plan. To communicate daily with the Team Leader on production progress. To complete all daily required production records e.g., Timesheets. To achieve an acceptable level of housekeeping. To participate in continue improvement and problem-solving initiative. Ability to work flexibly within the Production department and work within any area required. Essential Criteria: Previous experience within a manufacturing, construction, or agricultural industry. (or) Experience within a relevant role to the position. Understanding of Health & Safety at work. Flexibility in working hours and strong adaptability skills. Good Communication and teamwork experience. Willing to clean and maintain work area. An understanding of both written and spoken English. Desirable Criteria: (The following skills would be an advantage however training will be provided) Any suitable skills to the post will be considered. Work experience in civil engineering related projects The ability to read technical drawings/construction drawings. Experience with hand/air and power tools. Production Operative
Purpose/Main Objectives of Job: Responsible for the stages of the food processing supply chain from receipt, storage, processing and order picking to provide a high service level to the customer KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Food Processing 1. To complete food processing tasks as allocated by the QA/production supervisor and team leader, paying particular attention to the quality of the raw materials and adhering to best before dates 2. Handle product to ensure the stock arrives with the customer in a good condition, with good presentation, and not damaged 3. Pay particular attention to final presentation, wrapping, and labelling 4. Pack finished product into boxes or onto trays, again ensuring good presentation and no damage on arrival with the customer 5. Stock rotation principles of FIFO (first in, first out) must be adhered to 6. Achieve productivity and quality targets Miscellaneous 1. Participation in weekend working when required 2. Operatives can only use equipment for which they have been trained by the production supervisor or the team leader 3. Only operatives with a current certificate may use any of the mechanical handling equipment in the warehouse 4. Report all faults or damage to company property to the QA/production supervisor and the team leader 5. All operatives must wear the protective clothing supplied by the company at all times in the production area 6. Adhere to the Company Health & Safety Policy 7. Adhere to Food Safety Hygiene requirements and the HACCP system at all times 8. The company operates a ‘clean-as-you-go’ policy in the factory. This is a varied role that will include the below responsibilities: • To raise all material purchase requisitions and forward to facilities supervisor in a timely manner • Ensure that adequate stock records are maintained for all materials held. • To assist with sub-contractors visiting sites to perform necessary/preventative maintenance. • Liaise with the facilities supervisor on a daily/weekly basis for updates. • To execute the work schedules for all relevant general maintenance in a timely manner. • To ensure all job sheets are forwarded at the end of each week for inclusion in the next schedule of work. • Ensure that site walk rounds are performed once a month externally to log any external maintenance required. • To ensure that you are adequately trained on all equipment required to perform your duties. • To ensure that all members of the team are always working with appropriate PPE and within health and safety guidelines. • Ensure monthly H&S checks are performed on all equipment and reported to the supervisor.
