Driver Support Assistant
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Student Transport Drive a specially adapted college bus to transport students between home and college, between college sites, and to educational visits as required. Assist students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or restricted mobility in accessing the college bus safely. Classroom Support Provide in-class support for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Support tutors with classroom activities and administrative duties. Prepare and organise both electronic and traditional learning materials in collaboration with tutors. Assist students in using specialist equipment to support their learning where appropriate. Help students organise and manage classroom tasks within the scope of their qualifications. Supervise students in the classroom when a lecturer is absent, as directed. Personal Care Support Support students with personal care and hygiene needs. Supervise students during break and lunch periods, ensuring dietary requirements are met. Ensure students receive appropriate levels of attention and supervision throughout the day. Supervision and Student Welfare Provide early morning supervision for students arriving before class begins. Accompany students to the canteen and across campuses as required. Provide break and lunchtime supervision to ensure student safety. Provide supervision within classrooms under tutor direction. Administrative and Placement Support Update and maintain student personal files as required. Handle incoming and outgoing telephone enquiries related to students. Keep lecturers informed of any relevant student information. Support students on work placements, including: o Accompanying them to and from placements. o Liaising with placement supervisors and updating tutors on student progress. o Visiting students on placement as required. Liaison Communicate with parents, carers, and guardians when directed to do so by the tutor or college staff. General To contribute to the achievement of the College’s mission, values and strategic directions. Participate in the Colleges performance appraisal system Participate in College developments, attend internal and external meetings and training programmes required Adhere to general standards of conduct embodied in College policies To implement and embed the College’s equality and diversity policies and respond to its equality and diversity duties as they relate to all stakeholders. Act, if directed as fire marshal or warden Carry out, if directed, the role of first aider To undertake such other relevant duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder. Personnel Specification Essential Criteria Qualifications1 GCSE English at Grade C or above, or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or equivalent. GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or above, or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or equivalent. Hold a current driving licence with category D1 stated. Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence). Experience of working with young people, which may include those with severe and moderate learning difficulties. Competent in the use of a computer to produce worksheets, photographs, and other learning materials. Knowledge / Skills A broad knowledge and understanding of adult status and inclusion. Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards the feelings of others, particularly in personal care situations. A proven track record of working effectively as part of a team. Pharmacy Manager Job description - Manage, oversee and be responsible for the running of the pharmacy in line with all Company and industry regulations. - Have a Professional and ethical approach to work and strive to deliver on all aspects of the Pharmacy department. - Fulfil all statutory and professional duties expected of the Pharmacy and comply with the PSNI code of ethics and legal obligations. - Log all dispensing errors in accordance with Company procedures, ensure they are rectified and plans implemented to prevent reoccurrence. - Dispense prescription medication to patients checking dosage and ensuring all medicines are correctly and safely labelled and supplied. - Supervise the safe preparations of medicines and liaise with doctors to ensure accuracy and prevent risk. - Arrange safe delivery of prescription medications for those patients unable to attend the pharmacy. - Ensure that the controlled drugs register is maintained with accuracy for legal purposes and that confidentiality of customers, Company policies and statistics are maintained at all times and in accordance with Data Protection. - Act promptly to all communications and communicate to your team and action any directives from Head Office immediately. - Ensure that the branch is open for trading and the dispensing of prescriptions during registered opening hours, whilst ensuring that a pharmacist is on the premises at all times during these hours. You and your team must be conversant with the Company Policy regarding customer complaints and deal with them in a timely and efficiently manner. - Have the desire for ongoing self development, attending courses and the completion of the requisite amount of CPD as laid down by the PSNI is paramount. You must keep up to date with current Pharmacy practices, new drugs and their purpose. - Ensure general housekeeping of the Pharmacy including Health and Safety, encourage team work, ensure accurate completion of paperwork and attend meetings as and when required. You Should: - Be a Registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland. - Have previous experience working in a community pharmacy. - Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and be confident in working with other people. - Be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and have a commercial awareness of the area you are working in. - Flexibility with regards to travel and hours of work are essential. Purpose of the Job You will work alongside our Youth Officers and Project Workers to deliver fun and exciting opportunities for young people with physical disabilities, autism, ADHD, and brain injury to promote inclusion, personal development and independence. Activities could include bowling, cinema, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, going to local youth clubs or summer schemes. Activities take place in the evenings, at the weekends or during the school holidays.
