The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work. OR - Option 3 • Level 6 Specific Purpose in Farming programmes* OR-Option 4 • Αnyone working in the agricultural sector, 18 years old or older with have two full-time years of work experience in a land-based sector (such as farming, agricultural contracting, horticulture, forestry, aquaculture or the equine sector) deemed acceptable by employer and consortium and subject to the validation of supporting evidence and/or assessment process. * A qualification deemed equivalent on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications to any of the qualifications listed above. **Note – Where there is a mathematics requirement at Leaving Certificate Established or Vocational Programme, obtaining a minimum grade O6/H7 in Maths or a F2 in Foundation Maths, mature and international applicants may be required to demonstrate that they possess the required competency through the completion of a maths assessment. Role Purpose The purpose of this role within the relevant business unit and for HIQA as a whole: HIQA has a statutory mandate for health information under the Health Act 2007. HIQA’s remit is to set standards in relation to data and information, monitor compliance with these standards, evaluate information, and provide advice and recommendations to the Minister for Health about deficiencies identified in respect of health information under Section 8 (1)(i, j, k l) of the Health Act. HIQA’s health information function has been extended under the Patient Safety Act to include private hospitals and prescribed health service providers. In addition, there have been many recent changes happening in Ireland and at European level in the area of health information that will impact on HIQA’s work. For example, the recently published Digital Health Framework for Ireland 2024-2030 and the forthcoming Health Information Bill which advances and supports the development of an integrated health information system for Ireland. At the European level, the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulation requires member states to establish health data access bodies (HDABs) to support the re-use of electronic health data. The Health Information function in HIQA, working in conjunction with stakeholders, aims to drive improvements in the quality of health data and information across health and social care services to support the provision of high quality, safe and person-centred care. The teams work across the following areas: Principal Conditions of Service Probation: A probationary period of six months applies to this position. Pay: Candidates will be appointed on the minimum point of the salary scale (€38,083) and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
