Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or experience (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: i. Have satisfactory experience as a Clerical Officer in the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004. Or ii. Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irisp. Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C on higher level papers in three subjects in that examination. Or iii. Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent examination in another jurisdiction. Or iv. Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI). Note1: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher-level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme. The Leaving Certification Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. And (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office. Assistant Psychologist
Assistant Psychologist We are recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist in the Psychology Department. This is a 2-year contract post. Assistant Psychologists are managed and supervised by St Michael’s House Psychologists, while working alongside PICs and frontline staff in our Adult Services. They contribute to psychological and positive behaviour support interventions, including: carrying out systematic observations and functional assessments; recording, monitoring and evaluating interventions and training programmes; contributing to evidence-based clinical formulations; assisting with staff and service-user training programmes; conducting research literature reviews; assisting with research and evaluation projects, etc. Essential Requirements · Bachelor's Degree (or Equivalent) in Psychology at 2.1 level or above from a PSI-accredited Psychology course. · Experience and interest in supporting adults with moderate, severe or profound Intellectual Disability. · Full, clean Driver's License. Director Of Nursing Band, Older Persons Services, Kerry Community Healthcare - Extended
The Director of Nursing - Band 2, Older Persons Services will have both strategic and operational responsibility for the development and embedding improvements in residents and service users experience and quality of care provision, while delivering on agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and establishing a performance culture and will ensure all functions are fulfilled in line with National Operational Guidance. This post has a pivotal role in creating the vision and setting the culture of the Older Persons Services Nursing Team and therefore will have overarching responsibility for co-ordinating and managing activity and resources that will lead to the implementation, monitoring and sustainability of the nursing resource. The post holder will ensure that effective communication and integrated structures are in place to support team members who may align to other service teams for the purpose of providing a unified response to residents and service users’ needs as set out in National and local strategic and operational plans. The post holder will support older persons services to deliver effective and efficient services in line with the Unscheduled Care Plans, this will include reviewing scope of service provision within Older Persons Services and identifying learning and improvement action plans. The post holder will identify opportunities for service enhancement within Older Persons Services. The post holder will oversee the development and expansion of nursing services in Older Persons Services across CKCH. This position is a member of Older Persons Services Management Team and will have a key role in creating an atmosphere and culture where excellence can flourish with strong multidisciplinary collaboration across HSE South West with integration with the acute hospital system. The Director of Nursing will be an experienced nurse manager who wants to be part of a team with the common goal to deliver excellent services to our target population. S/he will lead a motivated and committed nurse management team to provide high quality services to the older population of CKCH, while also providing specialist advice and support in relation to Older Persons care to staff across HSE South West. The post holder will have regulatory responsibility as the Registered Provider Representative (RPR) for the purpose of HIQA registration. S/he will contribute to the corporate management agenda of Older Persons Services by providing strong strategic, professional and clinical leadership for all aspects of nursing and support staff within HSE South West. Please Note: Informal Enquiries Name: Helen Cross Grade: Physiotherapy Manager Email: helen.cross@hse.ie Phone: 087 978 6901 Details of Service As part of the 'National Strategy and Policy for the Provision of Neuro-Rehabilitation Services in Ireland – Implementation Framework 2019-2021, the HSE are developing networks of Neuro-Rehabilitation Services. The overarching aim of the Strategy is the development of Neuro-Rehabilitation services to improve outcomes for people by providing safe, high quality, person-centred Neuro-Rehabilitation at the lowest appropriate level of complexity. This must be integrated across the care pathway and provided as close to home as possible. These services are to be configured into population based Managed Clinical Rehabilitation Networks (MCRNs). The new model would see the introduction of a multi-tiered system, with access to services based on clinically assessed need. This means that instead of people being referred to a single service, they are now referred to a network of services and can access services within the network based on their need. All referrals to the network are received on a standardised referral form and are processed through a single point of entry through the Network Rehabilitation Coordinator role. Services would work together across organisational boundaries with people moving across the continuum of care seamlessly based on their needs. The MCRN model consists of a multi-tiered system of Neuro-Rehabilitation services and the Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) provides a critical link in the care pathway by facilitating early discharge and continuity from both acute and post-acute rehabilitation facilities. The Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team is an inter-disciplinary therapy team providing a specialised service for adults with a range of progressive or acquired neurological conditions. This is a multi-professional team including a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing and Administrative staff. This team will provide assessment and intensive therapy to people in both their own homes and in a clinic based setting for up to a period of 12 weeks. This service will provide people with earlier access to specialist rehabilitation close to home. The team provide a person centred service, improving people’s quality of life and working together to support people with neuro-rehabilitative needs. As this team is part of the Managed Clinical Rehabilitation Network, the newly established Community Neuro-rehabilitation Team will have a significant role to play with respect to evaluation of the service and contributing to further development of the team and the wider Managed Clinical Rehabilitation Network.
