OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE: The post holder will be part of a team of analysts responsible for analytical activities associated with drug substances and/or drug products. This may involve method development & validation, release testing and stability testing. Experience will be gained in many analytical techniques which may include HPLC, GC, IC, LC-MS, GC-MS, MS, NMR, FTIR and UV. A formal training program will ensure that the appropriate theoretical understanding and practical competency in the various analytical techniques is achieved. Training in GMP procedures will be provided and the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all analyses and associated tasks are performed in accordance with Almac Sciences quality policies and procedures In addition to the above activities the post holder may be required to carry out an Industrial Placement Project as a requirement of their degree course or alternatively an Almac Analytical Research Project as defined by the Analytical Management Team. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will: 1. Carry out analyses as specified by their supervisor. 2. Develop and retain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant analytical techniques and equipment. 3. Ensure that tasks relating to quality standards and procedures such as cGMP are carried out in the specified manner. 4. Provide an accurate and timely service to support production and business requirements. 5. Ensure that analytical information and results are recorded accurately and in a timely manner as stipulated by the relevant analytical method or SOP. 6. Identify incidents of out of specification results and inform the relevant Team Leader 7. Assist in the generation of analytical documentation e.g. methods, specifications, protocols and reports. 8. Keep their supervisor informed on a regular basis of progress and any circumstances which alter agreed timescales. 9. Ensure that laboratory equipment remains in calibration and functions as required. Where this is not the case inform the appropriate persons for them to action. 10. Ensure that all equipment log books and maintenance records are kept up-to-date. 11. Other duties as may be deemed appropriate by their supervisor and that fall within the general remit of the post. OR - Option 3 • Level 6 Specific Purpose in Farming programmes* OR-Option 4 • Αnyone working in the agricultural sector, 18 years old or older with have two full-time years of work experience in a land-based sector (such as farming, agricultural contracting, horticulture, forestry, aquaculture or the equine sector) deemed acceptable by employer and consortium and subject to the validation of supporting evidence and/or assessment process. * A qualification deemed equivalent on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications to any of the qualifications listed above. **Note – Where there is a mathematics requirement at Leaving Certificate Established or Vocational Programme, obtaining a minimum grade O6/H7 in Maths or a F2 in Foundation Maths, mature and international applicants may be required to demonstrate that they possess the required competency through the completion of a maths assessment. Warehouse Operator
OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE: To assume responsibility for Material Stores duties in and around any of the Almac buildings. This ranges from receiving deliveries; dealing with production/chemists/analysts; operating to the highest GMP standards; completing documentation; and waste disposal. All duties are performed following Almac’s HSE procedures. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will: 1. The post holder is responsible for carrying out all material handling and inventory control activities required within a computerised warehouse environment servicing a manufacturing and laboratory operation. 2. Ensure that all activities are carried out in a well-organised manner satisfying cGMP at all times. 3. Ensure correct receipt of material into the warehouse and the accurate completion of all goods inward documentation. 4. Inspect and sample materials according to Almac written procedures. 5. Ensure that all material is labelled, stored correctly and properly protected against damage or deterioration. All stock must be located properly within storage locations being accurately recorded on the relevant systems. 6. Prepare materials for production as required. 7. Transfer material to and from the storage areas as required. 8. Maintain and regularly check all storage areas and sampling areas are in a clean and tidy state. 9. Bulk up solid and liquid waste chemicals when required. 10. Collect and bulk up waste in Almac House. 11. Organise disposition of inventory stock as required. Ensuring there is an adequate consumable and core chemical stock for manufacturing and laboratory use as well as PPE and packaging. 12. Consumable stock requests from other departments are addressed in a timely manner 13. Ensure that all computer transactions for which the warehouse has responsibility for are carried out in a timely and accurate manner. 14. Ensure that forklift trucks and material handling equipment is used competently. Where formal training is required for the operation of such equipment this will be provided by the company. 15. Operate the Almac purchasing & inventory systems in accordance with TROPOS and complete the appropriate transactions for all Material Stores Activities. 16. Run Discover reports for status of items in stock and stock back up reports 17. Responsible for ensuring Goods-In at the Almac Sciences are received through TROPOS and goods are distributed to the relevant Departments QUALIFICATIONS GCSE Mathematics and English Language at Grade C or above (or equivalent) OR Significant relevant experience in a warehousing role EXPERIENCE Previous experience operating in a Warehouse environment KEY SKILLS Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages to include Outlook, Word and Excel Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) Ability to demonstrate awareness of importance of Health and Safety
