Utility Technician - Hard Services (Facility Compliance)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utility Technician for Hard Services to join our team. This role is pivotal in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination of facility compliance for critical utility systems, including HVAC, purified water systems, RO (Reverse Osmosis) water systems, chillers, and boilers. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, and optimal performance of our facility's essential utilities.

Responsibilities:

HVAC Systems

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Diagnose and address HVAC issues promptly to maintain optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure HVAC systems adhere to regulatory and industry standards.

Purified Water System and RO Water System

  • Perform regular checks and maintenance of purified water and RO water systems.
  • Monitor water quality parameters and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the quality control and compliance teams to meet pharmaceutical and regulatory requirements.

Chillers

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair chiller systems to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and adjustments, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and compliance teams for planned chiller system enhancements.

Boilers

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on boiler systems.
  • Implement efficiency tests and adjustments to enhance boiler system performance while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly to any boiler system malfunctions, adhering to regulatory requirements.

Asset Management

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all hard services assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the asset management team to plan for equipment upgrades and replacements.
  • Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and complies with regulatory requirements.

Facility Compliance Coordination

  • Act as a central point of contact for coordinating facility compliance activities related to utility systems.
  • Work closely with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Facilitate and participate in internal and external audits related to utility systems, maintaining compliance documentation.

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines during all maintenance, compliance, and coordination activities.
  • Stay informed about industry safety and compliance regulations.
  • Participate in safety training programs and contribute to maintaining a safety culture within the team.

Documentation

  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance-related activities.
  • Keep detailed records of equipment specifications, manuals, service history, and compliance documentation.
  • Generate reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to optimize facility performance and ensure compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including operations, quality control, and regulatory affairs.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Technical trade qualification or vocational training in HVAC or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC, purified water systems, RO water systems, chillers, and boilers with a focus on compliance.
  • Relevant certifications, such as HVAC certification, are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems and their components in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and compliance.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
