We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Upholsterer Technician to join our team in Sandymount.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Contract Hours: 35 hrs per week.

Salary Scale: €31,312 to €46,073

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days.

Overview of the Post:

The purpose of this post is to provide upholstery and technical expertise to contribute to the delivery of suitable wheelchair seating solutions to people with complex needs.

The Upholsterer Technician uses their knowledge & understanding working with experienced colleagues in the delivery of custom seating solutions, working in a proactive manner to ensure that they meet agreed deadlines, delivering high-quality SeatTech products in the most efficient way possible.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities:

The role of the Upholsterer Technician is to provide upholstery & technical support, undertaking relevant and necessary tasks to ensure that people receive the most appropriate equipment in the most efficient manner possible.

While upholstery work takes up the largest proportion of the Upholsterer Technician’s time, their role can be diverse.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Upholstery

• Quality assurance

• Product manufacture

• Use of 3D scanning technologies

• Supporting the stock management process

The successful candidate will have

Essential Criteria:

· Training and experience in upholstery

· Training and experience of pattern making

· Experience of hands-on completion to a high standard of manual technical work, seeing products through from design phase to completion

Desirable Criteria:

· NFQ Level 7 qualification in a relevant field, or NFQ Level 6 qualification with significant relevant experience.

· Workshop & machine tools training & experience including experience using machine tools and handheld power tools
