Trainee Procurement Officer

4/5 (To progress to Band 6 on completion of programme)

JOB PURPOSE:
To successfully complete a 3 year development programme within our Procurement Unit, gaining experience in a broad range of procurement work and projects including completion of a Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply. On successful completion of the programme, the post holder will be confirmed as a Procurement Project Manager (Band 6) in one of the sections within the Unit.

To contribute to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive service to support NIHE business delivery and our vision and values

REQUIREMENTS: 
1. i) Possess a Degree or equivalent level 6 qualification in a subject area relevant to this post such as Business studies or business related disciplines, Law or Information Technology or construction related discipline
OR
ii) A BTEC National or equivalent level 3 qualification AND 2 years’ relevant experience* (Please include dates)

*Relevant experience should include 2 of the following areas:
  • Involvement in procurement or contracting activity.
  • Involvement in implementation of legislation or procedural requirements.
  • Experience demonstrating proficient use of desktop productivity tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project.
  • Using e-procurement systems.
  • Planning and delivering projects for customers.
