Trainee Crystal Blower

Job Summary:

As a Trainee Crystal Blower, you will learn the specialised craft of crystal glassblowing under the guidance of experienced artisans and technicians. This role is designed for individuals with a keen interest in glassmaking and a desire to develop hands-on skills in the creation of high-quality crystal products. You will be trained in the techniques required to shape, blow, and finish glass components, working closely with a team dedicated to producing luxury glassware.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced crystal blowers in the preparation and handling of materials, including the heating, shaping, and forming of molten crystal glass.
• Learn and practice the art of glassblowing, including techniques such as free-blowing, mould-blowing, and the use of various glass working tools.
• Participate in the production of crystal products, including luxury glassware, or decorative glass art.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, particularly around high temperatures and hot materials.
• Learn to inspect finished glass products for quality control, identifying imperfections or defects and refining techniques to improve the overall quality of work.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the setup and breakdown of equipment and tools.
• Engage in continuous learning and development, including formal training sessions, workshops, and feedback sessions to improve skills.
• Collaborate with other team members to develop new designs and products, contributing creatively to the studio or workshop environment.

Qualifications:

• A passion for craftsmanship and a genuine interest in glass working or related art forms.
• Strong attention to detail and a steady hand for delicate work.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and a willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
• Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
