Title: Temporary/Cover Instructor – Level 6 (QQI) Communications and Teamworking (Day time Cover)
Grade: Instructor Grade
Reporting To: Assistant Manager
Initial Location: GRETB Training Centre, Galway
Function of Job: To deliver and assess aspects of level 6 (QQI) Communications and Team working modules in accordance with the relevant training specifications.
Salary Scale: €23.00 per hour
Competencies:
The person appointed to the above post will be require to show evidence of the following competencies:
- Specialist Knowledge, Expertise and Self-Development
- Relevant experience and knowledge of delivering Communications and Team Leadership at QQI Level 6 or equivalent
- Teaching/Instructing/Training ability
- Specific capacity to contribute to the overall needs of the Further Education and Training Services
- Management and Delivery of Results
- Professional Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, course notes, presentational material and hand-outs as appropriate
- Schedule, conduct, correct and mark assessment, tests, portfolios, skills demos etc. in accordance with the relevant assessment programmes and carry out associated administrative tasks
- Provide appropriate additional instruction and schedule, conduct, correct and mark repeat assessments in accordance with the prescribed referral procedure.
- Maintain prescribed course records
- Supervise apprentices and ensure that correct, quality standards and safety procedures are observed
- Supervise apprentices in respect of their timekeeping, attendance, behaviour and application during delivery of the modules
- Plan and ensure the timely delivery of all course material
- Raise requests for the purchase and supply of course materials/equipment relevant to delivery of the modules
- Ensure that course materials are used in an economical and cost effective manner
- Use new technology as appropriate to assist in delivering and administering training
- Undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time
