Location:

Coole service is based in the Gort area of Co. Galway under the Orchard Services and is roughly 45kms from the city. We provide day and residential services and individualised services to adults with high support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship / partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships

Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis.

The Role:

The Team Leader has a pivotal role in managing the day to day delivery of services. The successful candidate must provide leadership and vision in the development of the service in line with HIQA, New Directions, Personal Outcomes Measures and future service developments.

Reporting/Responsible To:

Team Manager/Service Coordinator / Area Manager.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

Candidates must hold one of the following recognised professional qualifications:

• Nursing (RNID/ /RGN) or HETAC/DIT/NQAI BA HONS in Applied Social Studies/Social Care/ Open Training College (HETAC) accredited BA HONS in Applied Social Studies (Disability)- Successful candidates must be registered with or eligible to register with CORU by November 2025.

• An appropriate management qualification is an advantage.

• Candidates must have a full clean manual Irish driving licence. A full Class B Driving Licence to enable the successful candidate to drive the transport that is assigned to the service is essential.

• Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership, communication and team working skills and be a flexible and dynamic individual who will relate to people in a range of situations with an understanding of and commitment to the principles of public accountability as they apply in the health service.

• Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.

Working Hours:

For Social Care Leader 78 hours per fortnight based on a 14-day duty roster and for nursing grades 75 hours a fortnight applies

The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings and weekends, public holidays, and occasional night duty may be required. A sleep over requirement is essential aspect of this post.

The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful

Candidate e.g. CNM1 or Social Care Leader.

Remuneration:

Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidate e.g. CNM1 or Social

Care Leader.

Probation:

A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.

Tenure:

This post is Permanent full-time and pensionable.
