Location:

Cregoran Services is a progressive, dynamic and developing service located in and around Claregalway, Co. Galway. Cregoran provides a variety of residential, day and respite services to adults with intellectual disabilities who have very high support needs, grounded in the use of personal outcome measures.

We work to form genuine relationships and partnerships with each person we support and those closest to them. We aim to support people to participate in the everyday life of their community, to have ordinary life experiences, and to create opportunities for the people we support to form real friendships.

Role:

The role of the Team Leader is an important role in the management of the day to day organisation and provision of supports. The successful candidate must provide leadership in the development of the service in line with Personal Outcomes Measures, HIQA standards, New Directions and future service requirements.

The vision of the Cregoran Services, is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community. Our focus is the formation of relationships and partnerships with each individual and their family, in order to support the person to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences.

We are looking to recruit an innovative, creative, motivated, and visionary person who will relish the opportunity to assist in empowering each person we support achieve their vision.

We are looking for leaders who will be flexible and adaptable to ensure the service provided is moulded to meet the needs of the people they support. Additionally, the leader must be open to change and work to ensure the provision of a safe, secure environment where individuals participate in community and leisure activities, making choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfils their potential and expectations, while also having the opportunity for new experiences.

It is the Team Leader’s responsibility to ensure that the life of each individual reflects the

• Whilst ensuring the physical, medical, social and emotional wellbeing outcomes of the people supported are observed.

Reporting/Responsible To:

Service Coordinator /Area Manager

Qualifications/Experience:

 Nursing Qualification RNID/RMHN & updated Registration with NMBI or BA in Applied Social Studies/Social Care. Candidates must hold a professional registration, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Registrar maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU on or before 30th November 2025.

 A management qualification is desirable.

 Candidates must have a full clean manual driving licence.

 Candidates must have at least 3 years post qualification experience gained in services for people with intellectual disabilities. Experience of working with individuals with behaviours that challenge is a distinct advantage.

 Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of leading and supporting a team.

 Experience in community networking, supporting individuals to partake in activities in their local community, goal setting and programme implementation is desirable.

 Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.

Skills:

Candidates must demonstrate leadership and planning skills, the ability to set goals, put these goals into action and evaluate their success. Candidates must have the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality, be creative and self-motivated, communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and co-operate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophy.

Working Hours:

For nursing grades 75 hours a fortnight applies over a 5/7 day duty roster depending on location.

For Social Care grades the working hours will be 78/78 over a 5/7 day duty roster depending on location. Contracted hours of work are liable to change over 7 days to meet the requirements of the service, to include days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and night duty as service need requires.

The successful candidate will be required to take responsibility as the senior person on duty in order to support colleagues across Cregoran Services, on a rostered basis, outside of usual business hours. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful

Candidate e.g. CNM1 or Social Care.

Remuneration:

Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidate e.g. CNM1 or Social

Care.

Tenure:

These posts are Permanent full-time and pensionable.

Probation:

A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
