As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Tax Technology Manager to join our growing tax team. This role is based in our Head Office in Dublin city Centre.

The Role:

Led by the Head of Tax, Dunnes Stores is building a tax centre of excellence to proactively help the business grow whilst also meeting the increasing digital legislation demands being set at an international level. The Tax Technology Manager will play a key part in building the Dunnes Stores tax centre of excellence by:

  • Becoming a trusted tax solutions expert to innovate across business, tax, and finance.
  • Developing and implementing tax automation and tax data governance for the future.
  • Working collaboratively with other tax colleagues and IT partners to ensure Dunnes Stores is approaching the digital era internationally in a cohesive and adaptable manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and identifying tax data governance, transformation, and process automation opportunities.
  • Implementing low code/no code tax software solutions to improve tax department efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Creating an efficient and time sensitive digital reporting and audit response strategy.
  • Acting as tax product manager for any internal/external tax software solutions.
  • Offering tax technology support and building trusted partnerships with core technology teams.
  • Increasing efficiency and effectiveness to positively contribute strategic value to the business.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Driving and embedding performance improvement in tax functions, including creating a suite of analytics for leadership with confidentiality security protocols to ensure reporting and analytics are appropriate for the approved role or responsibility.
  • Driving efficiencies through automation of technology for tax and finance functions.
  • Developing tax technology plans with goals, build and deployment strategies, and performance measurements.
  • Assessing systems architecture (ERP and other tax systems) currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions (ERP enhancements or alternative solutions) to improve it or fill the gap.
  • Embedding and sustaining tax data quality standards in the financial system to enhance tax processes, operations, and effectiveness.
  • Enhancing tax governance and control through content management solutions, workflow technologies, and document management.
  • Reviewing, designing, and embedding effective tax control framework and processes across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Embedding best practice tax testing protocols across all technology projects.
  • Supporting change management across the technology teams as new processes are required for digital legislation.
  • Creating immediate audit response solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

To apply for this role you must have previous software development/implementation experience along with previous tax/accounting experience. You will also require SQL skills and analytical skills.

The following skills and experience are preferred:

  • Experience working on digital legislation/tax automation implementation projects.
  • Project management experience.
  • Product management experience.
  • Programming language experience such as Python/Java or an equivalent.
  • In-house experience.
