SUPPORT WORKER

LONGFORD/WESTMEATH/ MEATH SERVICES (ATHBOY)

The focus of this role will be to support an individual to realise their vision to leading a good life through Person Centred approaches in line with personal interests, skills, will and preference.

Relief (If and When Required Roster)

We are looking to recruit a support worker to work Relief in the Meath area. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to support individuals on a 1:1 basis to be more independent in their own homes and to assist them to make connections and develop relationships within their local community. We are looking for a support worker who is motivated, enthusiastic and creative.

Essential requirements/qualities of applicant are:

· FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or equivalent (e.g. Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support)

· Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.

· Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with a range of support needs.

· A valid licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland

· Excellent communication skills.

· Strong initiative and creativity.

· Flexibility and willing to undertake roster covering various houses/locations.

· Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be available for any day and sleepover shifts. In addition, we require staff members to be willing to work alone in the residents’ homes.
