The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit for the following permanent position:

Job Role: Support Worker
Location:  Croft Lodge - Croft Communities
Salary:  £11.63 per hour
Hours: 36-hrs/week (rota -based shifts between 07:30 – 21:30)

Flexibility is required to ensure the needs of the service are met. Support Workers must be available to work unsociable hours and on public holidays on a rotational basis. Working patterns can be discussed.

We are currently offering a Welcome Bonus up to £500 (pro rata): The bonus will be £250 on successful completion of 6 months’ service and a further £250 on the first anniversary totalling £500.

The Service:

Croft Communities provide residential support to adults with learning disabilities. The Support Worker is part of the Croft Communities team and the main purpose of their role is to provide care and support to service users with a learning disability to enable them to live happy and fulfilled lives reaching their full potential within their local community.

Mayne House is a residential service in Bangor, Co Down. Mayne House is registered with RQIA to provide residential care to 9 service users with learning disability. The service provides 24 hour tailored care.

Croft Lodge is a seven bed wheelchair-friendly respite unit which provides adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to come and enjoy a break with us. This service provides 24 hour tailored care and allows main carers to avail of a break to recharge. 


The Role:
To assist service users with activities of daily living and facilitate inclusion of service users in a broad range of activities. The role requires:
  • Participation in the delivery of person-centred care, including personal care.
  • Promotion of a team approach with positive working relationships for the benefit of the service user.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and be available to work unsocial hours and public holidays on a rotational basis.

Essential Criteria:
  • Effective verbal and written communication to include numeracy skills.
  • Interest in working with people in a care environment.
  • Awareness of the needs of people with learning and physical disabilities
