KNOW THE ROLE

As a Stock Controller you will report to the Concessions Manager and oversee the Stock processes for the business and the Stock Assistants within the team. You will assist and monitor in-going and out-going stock, plan deliveries and seasonal changes to the stockroom as well as perform stock takes and investigate discrepancies. You will partner closely with the business, building strong working relationships. You will communicate stock issues or concerns to head office and will take an active role in training staff on stock control.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Manage all stock areas to ensure effective stock control, for example; handling deliveries, transfers, stock takes and in store events.
  • Meticulous and timely management of faulty/returned stock within the concession/boutique, escalating issues or concerns, where necessary.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all inventory in the stockroom and on the selling floor, ensuring merchandise is neatly organised.
  • Assist with all receiving/shipping and inventory related paperwork,
  • Build strong professional relationships with people both inside and outside the business, develop those relationships to facilitate and impact stock control within the business.
  • Motivate staff to achieve the highest possible standards in the stockroom and commit to promoting best practice within the company.
  • Team work and management – manage and motivate stock control and shop floor staff to develop a team and achieve high standards.
  • Work effectively and performs multiple tasks to a high standards throughout the concession
  • Support concession and take part in events organization within the company Managing the Inventory process to the highest possible standards.
  • Liaising with our internal Regional Stock Coordinator and Buying and Merchandising Manager to ensure seamless stock performance at all times.
  • Assist and support with ongoing training and operational awareness for relevant team members, for example reliable checking of faulty goods and releasing product back on to the selling floor.
  • Plan stock assistants Rota to cover other boutiques/concession and deliveries.
  • Work with the concession manager on company calendar to forward plan for external events and seasonal changes in the business.
  • Make sure that stock assistants adhere to company policy when dealing with stock.

KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

In order to deliver the main responsibilities of the role, you will need the following skills:

1. Technical:

  • Proven experience in a luxury retail or service environment.
  • Substantial, proven experience in stock handling
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

2. Soft skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail, in order to support the needs of the business.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Extremely organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Highly motivated and committed.
  • Adaptability and flexibility – ability to embrace change within the company.
  • Time Management – punctual and reliable, able to multi task and priorities and help and manage others to achieve tasks within set deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and willing to perform varied tasks depending on the needs of the business. Proactive, dynamic and have a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Adherence to company policy – strong sense of corporate responsibility and ability to set a high standard.
  • Brand awareness – commitment to Christian Louboutin as a brand and technical knowledge which is utilized in stock control to identify faulty product or potential issues.
  • Problem solving – ability to use their knowledge to make good, clear decisions about stock control. Ability to confidently deal with issues surrounding deliveries, transfers, stock takes and events.
  • Reporting and administration – strong administrative skills, ability to complete weekly stock reports to management accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about his/her own career development and self-awareness of areas of improvement.
  • Leadership and integrity – ability to lead others and delegate effectively.

How will success be measured?

  • You will be set individual daily and monthly targets which you are required to achieve.
  • You and the store team will have regular inventory stock checks.
  • On a yearly basis with probably a monthly or quarterly follow-up, you will have a performance review with targets to still improve your performance based on:
  • The core company values and behaviours, which are expected to be demonstrated at all times.
  • Team work: you are expected to deliver as part of a team at all times and supporting and mentoring if necessary new team members as required.
  • You are expected to respect Company processes and procedures and follow about security, stock, cash, transfer, shoe-uniform, grooming amongst others.
  • Your manager will be expected to provide you with ongoing appropriate feedback to support your improvement where necessary and appropriate as required.
