The initial vacancies are in Carlow/Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford areas. The successful candidates may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises.

Please note that there are existing panels in place for Staff Nurse General (Community) for South East Community Healthcare. The existing panel will take precedence over the supplementary panel created through this campaign for any future posts that arise.

A panel may be created from this campaign for South East Community Healthcare from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration may be filled.

Details of Service

Community Health Services are delivered through Primary Care Health Centres and directly in client’s homes. Each Primary Care Health Centre is part of a Primary Care Network which provides services to populations of approximately 50,000 persons. Within these centres you will be a vital member of the Primary care team, working alongside Public Health Nurses, Health & Social Care professionals and GPs.

We are committed to providing progressive high standards of nursing care to clients with a wide range of simple to complex palliative, acute or chronic disease needs. In addition to clients in these groups we also provide health promotion advice to all age groups in order to promote health and wellbeing in our population.

Public Health Nursing services allow extensive opportunities to fully engage in the delivery of holistic quality care, working with many other Primary Care Team health care professionals such as GPs, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Dieticians and Health Care assistants, and also with colleagues in the acute /disability & mental health services to ensure the best outcomes for the population we serve.

Purpose of the Post

The Staff Nurse General (Community) will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards and best practice.
