We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Grade Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in a CDNT based in Enable Ireland, Curraheen, Cork.

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: Up to 28hours per week

Salary Scale: €57,771 to €68,387pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days pro rata

Overview of the Post:

Enable Ireland delivers children’s services under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. As a Lead Agency within this model, Enable Ireland has responsibility for the delivery of services to children assigned to Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) within designated network areas. Services are provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. As a senior member of the interdisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of Speech and Language Therapy services, including assessment and intervention to children and adolescents enrolled on the CDNT. Services will be provided across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children’s homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will have

Essential Criteria:

• Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Speech and Language Therapists Register with CORU at time of application and provide proof of statutory registration before a contract of employment can be issued.

• Have three years’ clinical experience working as an SLT.

• On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech and Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.

• Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

• Full clean Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria:

• Clinical experience working with children and their families as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Relevant postgraduate training specific to children with disabilities (0-18 years)

e.g. assistive technology, neurodevelopmental approaches, Hanen, neuroaffirmitive approaches, FEDS.

• Experience providing clinical supervision to basic grade SLTs and/or students.

• Access to own transport
