St. Michael’s House provides a comprehensive range of services and supports to men, women, and children with disabilities and their families in 170 locations in the greater Dublin Area. It supports 1,953 people and this has an impact on thousands of family members. St. Michael’s House is a company funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE), TUSLA and the Department of Education and Skills. (Figures from 1st May 2021).St. Michael’s House supports include; Residential supports and Independent living, Clinical supports, Day supports, Schools, Respite supports and Vocational training services.

St. Michael's House is presently recruiting for a permanent full- time Social Care Leader post based in Kilfenora Drive, Donaghmede..
Essential Criteria:
- Have at least 5 years’ experience working in intellectual disability within a community residential setting or within Day service provision
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
- Be knowledgeable of Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of HSE, (2015) Interim Standards for New Directions.
- Have experience in the area of intellectual disability, complex health needs, positive behaviour support, advocacy and social inclusion.
- Have a strong commitment to the empowerment of the service users and their families
- Has experience of leading a team within their management role.
- Have a professional and positive approach on all aspects of the role.
Essential Qualifications Required:
- QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College;
- Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland;
- A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award
- On the CORU list of “approved degrees for Section 38 organisations" or “sufficiently relevant qualifications";
And
- A relevant Health or Social Care Management qualification.
- A full clean driver’s licence and be willing to drive as part of your role.
Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE revised consolidated October 2024 Social Care Leader HSE pay scale point 1: €38,951 – point 7: €63,877 per annum (based on working a 39-hour week).
Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
