St. Michael’s House provides a comprehensive range of services and supports to men, women, and children with disabilities and their families in 170 locations in the greater Dublin Area. It supports 1,953 people and this has an impact on thousands of family members. St. Michael’s House is a company funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE), TUSLA and the Department of Education and Skills. (Figures from 1st May 2021).St. Michael’s House supports include; Residential supports and Independent living, Clinical supports, Day supports, Schools, Respite supports and Vocational training services.

Description

St. Michael's House is a community-based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublin area. St. Michael’s House is committed to providing individualized supports to people so that they can enjoy experiences, opportunities and lifestyles similar to their peers.

St. Michael's House is presently recruiting for a full- time, permanent Social Care Leader based in Cill Bharrog Local centre.

Candidates require experience of leading a staff team in providing a high quality person centred Day Service based on the interim standards set out in New Directions, including individual programmes, Cosan, QQI education programmes, activities and social inclusion. This service also includes an outreach programme for a number of service users.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have at least 3 years management experience in the area of intellectual disabilities.
  • Be knowledgeable of Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of HSE, (2015) Interim Standards for New Directions.
  • Have experience in the area of intellectual disability, complex health needs, positive behaviour support, advocacy and social inclusion.
  • Possess experience in key-working, developing Cosan and QQI education programmes
  • A full clean driver’s licence and be willing to drive as part of your role.
  • Possess a strong commitment to the provision of a quality person centred day service.
  • Possess experience in key-working, developing Cosan and QQI education programmes

Essential Qualifications Required:

  • QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College;
  • Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland;
  • A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award
  • And/or be in the process of being CORU registered or fully registered as a Social Care Worker

  • A relevant Health or Social Care Management qualification.

Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE revised consolidated October 2024 Social Care Leader HSE pay scale point 1: €38,951 – point 7: €63,877 per annum (based on working a 39-hour week).

Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
